A foamed polypropylene material, a method of manufacture and use on an online cable

This invention relates to the field of polypropylene materials technology, and discloses a foamed polypropylene material, its preparation method, and its application in cables. The preparation method includes adding a flame retardant and polyethyleneimine-modified nano-silica to the foamed polypropylene material. On the one hand, the synergistic flame retardancy of phosphorus, nitrogen, and silicon enhances the flame retardant properties of the polypropylene material. On the other hand, the polyamine structure in polyethyleneimine can act as affinity sites to bind with the foaming gas carbon dioxide, promoting the uniform dispersion of carbon dioxide in the polypropylene system and forming a finer, more uniform cell structure. This improves the flame retardant properties, mechanical properties, and foaming properties of the foamed polypropylene material, making it suitable for use in cable materials.

Miniaturized continuous transcutaneous carbon dioxide and peripheral oxygen saturation monitoring wearable

PCT designated stageWO2026090524A1Optical sensorsMeasuring/recording heart/pulse ratePhotoluminescenceCarbon dioxide binding
A wearable, skin adhesive blood gas monitoring device detects both oxygen and carbon dioxide for accommodating a potential inaccuracy in an oxygen level resulting from excessive carbon dioxide. Photoluminescent films in conjunction with a compact form-factor circuit provide a wearable and unobtrusive device that adheres directly to the epidermal surface for computation of blood gas levels based on transcutaneous and reflective properties of the blood gases. A wireless medium such as Bluetooth® enables communication to a standalone or portable device such as a smartphone or similar personal device having an application (app) for receiving the computed signals. Conditions such as hypercarbia, which tend to result in higher levels of carbaminohemoglobin, or hemoglobin bound to CO2 instead of oxygen, tend to compromise computed oxygen levels by interpreting the CO2-bound hemoglobin as oxygenated blood.
