The method comprises the following steps: step 1, determining an external electromagnetic environment faced by the helicopter fuel system; 2, identifying a potential fire blast source; step 3, in the external electromagnetic environment, testing the minimum explosion voltage; 4, in the external electromagnetic environment, testing the coupling voltage of a fire blast source; 5, calculating the maximum coupling voltage of the fire blast source based on the coupling voltage of the fire blast source; and 6, comparing the minimum explosion voltage with the maximum coupling voltage, and evaluating the electromagnetic radiation safety of the fuel system. The invention provides a simple, convenient and economical electromagnetic radiation safety assessment method for a helicopter fuel system. The minimum explosion voltage and the maximum coupling voltage of an explosion source of the fuel system are obtained through comparison testing, and the electromagnetic radiation safety of the fuel system is assessed.
