Methods of preparation and using antimicrobial products

Novel antimicrobial products and methods of making and using the same are shown, whereby the products can be used in the same or greater percentages as conventional microbial growth inhibitors without imparting an off-flavor, taste, color or odor to the products in which they are used. The antimicrobial products are formed by reacting azodicarbonamide or an ammonia gas with a compound selected from the group consisting of benzoic acid, sodium benzoate, calcium benzoate, potassium benzoate, acetic acid, sodium diacetate, paraben, niacin, calcium acetate, calcium diacetate, citric acid, lactic acid, fumaric acid, sorbic acid, sodium sorbate, calcium sorbate, potassium sorbate, propionic acid, sodium propionate, calcium propionate, potassium propionate and mixtures thereof. In one embodiment, the product is prepared by placing a layer of azodicarbonamide on a substrate and covering the layer with a gas permeable separator. The antimicrobial compound is then added on top of the separator, and the combination is heated to form the final product. In another embodiment, the product is prepared by exposing the antimicrobial compound to an ammonia gas. The ammonia gas reacts with free acids in the antimicrobial compound to convert the free acids into ammonium salts, thereby eliminating off-flavor and off-odor of the resulting antimicrobial product. The antimicrobial products prepared according to the present invention are suitable for use in foodstuffs, sanitation products, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and so forth.

The fire retardant is obtained by reacting dialkyl phosphite with 4-aminostyrene and carbon tetrachloride in the presence of a catalyst, wherein the catalyst is a compound of an organic base and an inorganic base; the organic base catalyst is pyridine, triethylamine, diethylamine, triethanolamine, diethanolamine, aniline, tetrabutyl ammonium hydroxide or tetraethyl ammonium hydroxide, while the inorganic base catalyst is sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, sodium benzoate or potassium benzoate; the mol ratio of the organic base to 4-aminostyrene is (3-1): 1 and the mol ratio of the inorganic base to 4-aminostyrene is (1.1-1): 1. Due to the existence of the styrene structure in the molecule, the fire retardant monomer is easy to have a polymerization reaction with active double bonds such as styrene and ethylene; in the meantime, due to the existence of phosphorus and nitrogen fire-retarding elements, the material is provided with fire resistance; carbon tetrachloride is used as a solvent in the synthesis process, so that the reaction is convenient to operate and high in yield; industrial production of the fire retardant is easy to realize.

The invention relates to a preparation method for telbivudine, which pertains to the technical field of organic chemical engineering and comprises the following technical steps: (1) 2'-deoxidized-beta-D-thymine nucleoside is taken as a raw material and anhydrous pyridine is taken as a solvent; the raw material and the solvent react with p-toluenesulfonyl chloride at the temperature of minus 5 DEG C to 0 DEG C; then centrifugalization and drying are carried out, and 3, 5-di-O-P- toluenesulfonyl chloride-beta-D-thymine nucleoside is obtained; (2) DMF is taken as a solvent, and the 3, 5-di-O-P- toluenesulfonyl chloride-beta-D-thymine nucleoside reacts with potassium benzoate at the temperature of minus 70 DEG C to 100 DEG C; configuration inversion and evaporation concentration are carried out, thus obtaining 3, 5-di-O- benzoyl-beta-L-thymine nucleoside; (3) hydrolysis is carried out on the 3, 5-di-O- benzoyl-beta-L-thymine nucleoside by using amino methanol, and 2'-deoxidized-beta-L-thymine nucleoside is obtained, thus obtaining the target object telbivudine. The method uses O3 sterilization to prevent the fresh ginseng from rotting and deteriorating, and the freshness-retaining bags simulate the ecological environment of the dormant state of the ginseng or the American ginseng to lead the fibrils not to be withered and yellow, and the color and luster, the freshness and the hardness of the whole ginseng not to be changed, therefore, the freshness-retaining time is more than 6 months. The invention relates to preparation of an inorganic salt-derived porous carbon electrode, particularly relates to preparation of porous carbon from potassium benzoate through one-step carbonization without additives or one-step improvement of the performance of the porous carbon by adding an activating agent, and belongs to the fields of supercapacitors and new energy materials. An electrode preparation method adopts the potassium benzoate as a raw material to prepare porous carbon without the need of additives, and a prepared carbon electrode has properties not worse than those of supercapacitor porous carbon electrodes prepared by a plurality of complex methods. If an activating agent is added during preparation for activation, the properties can be further improved. Potassium benzoateis abundant and inexpensive, and potassium carbonate is generated during high-temperature carbonization to etch a carbon skeleton to produce a porous structure, which can effectively reduce the use ofa large number of corrosive compounds. The raw material is easily available, the preparation process is simple, and the conditions are mild. The pore size is adjustable, the electrochemical performance is superior, and the porous carbon electrode is very suitable for large-scale production.

A method of treating antimicrobial products, dairy products, pharmaceutical products and other products having offensive tastes or odors to remove the off-odors and off-tastes from the products. The method involves exposing a selected commercial grade product that contains a small amount of free acid impurities to an ammonia gas. The ammonia gas reacts with the free acid impurities to convert the free acids into ammonium salts, thereby reducing or eliminating the off-flavor and off-odor of the product. The products to be treated include antimicrobial products selected from the group consisting of sodium benzoate, calcium benzoate, potassium benzoate, sodium diacetate, paraben, niacin, calcium acetate, calcium diacetate, sodium sorbate, calcium sorbate, potassium sorbate, sodium propionate, calcium propionate, potassium propionate and mixtures thereof; dairy products selected from the group consisting of casein, whey, skim milk powder, and calostrum; pharmaceutical products selected from the group consisting of acetaminiphen, aspirin, ibuprophen, dextromethorphan hydrobromide, guaejenesin, paracetamol, and sodium erythorbate; and various other products selected from the group consisting of butylate hydroxy tolulene, polydextrose powder, sodium acid sulfate, and sodium diacetate.
