The invention discloses a method for selecting a vehicle-borne mobile ad hoc network router based on direction information, and belongs to the ad hoc network router research field. The method is characterized in that the router establishment stage includes the following steps: when receiving a routing request message, a node determines whether the node is a target node; when the node is not the target node, a direction determination strategy is employed; only when the self-travel direction and the direction deviation marked by an RREQ is in a tolerate range, the self routing table is just examined; and whether the RREP is replied to or an RREQ data packet is forwarded to a source node is adjusted according to whether the node has the effective router reaching the target node, wherein when the data packet is forwarded, the direction information in the RREQ is required to be updated to the movement direction of the node, otherwise, the data packet is discarded. By adopting the method, the disconnection time of the router in the vehicle-carried mobile ad hoc network is greatly reduced, and the routing overhead is greatly reduced, therefore, the method is a recommendable scheme.
