An apparatus and method for the magnetic-based, releasable and position adjustable attachment of an article to a support. The device is well suited for use with cameras, spotting scopes, navigational devices, distance finders, sensors, lights and other devices, but is not limited to use with these articles. Various embodiments are disclosed including several magnetic-based releasable attachment configurations, various positioning and position locking mechanisms, multiple ways to attach to an ancillary article, and anti-rotation mechanisms, among other aspects of the present invention.

According to various embodiments, a parabolic antenna may include a radome with an optically transparent window. The parabolic antenna may include a feedhorn socket configured to receive a feedhorn assembly. The feedhorn socket may also be configured to receive a spotting scope. According to various embodiments, the spotting scope may be mounted in place of the feedhorn assembly and used to optically align the parabolic antenna with respect to a distant target. The optically transparent window positioned in the radome may allow a user to see through the radome. Once aligned, the spotting scope may be removed from the feedhorn socket. A feedhorn assembly may then be secured in the feedhorn socket and a radio unit coupled thereto for radio frequency transmission.

An improved device for attachment of support apparatuses such as a tripod, support accessory, adjustable ball and socket support arms, and the like, to supplemental support objects such as a tree or limb, post or rail or other environmental objects, is herein provided. Convenient portable support of cameras, spotting scopes, optical devices and other devices is enhanced by enabling placement at usable heights, locations, and positions beyond the capabilities of the support apparatus alone. Shown as generally rectangular in shape, the support attachment device has a support apparatus side and supplemental support side, and an upper and lower end. A rope placed within a rope clenching cleat is tightly bound without the need for a buckle requiring manual manipulation. No additional manually operated clamp or buckle is needed. By using common rope as a flexible means or secure attachment, the user is not limited by finite lengths of normal straps or finite sizes of normal clamps, but instead enabled to easily add to length as needed.

An optical system for providing a viewer with contrast between a golf ball and its environment, including a light filter and at least one polarizer mounted in a viewing device. The light filter has no more than about 20% transmittance of light in one of the range of wavelengths of from about 500 nm to about 700 nm. The viewing device allows for the light filter and the polarizer to be arranged in front of at least one eye of the viewer. The optical system can be provided in a spotting scope, a pair of eyeglasses or an attachment to eyeglasses for ease of use.

An image modifying assembly for connection to a smart device, such as a smartphone or smartpad, is disclosed. The assembly includes an adapter case for receiving the smart device, a connector attached to the adapter case, a locking collar operably associated with the connector for removable attachment thereto, and a clamping device having a first clamping portion for connection to the locking collar, a second clamping portion spaced from the first clamping portion, and a bore extending between the first and second clamping portions. The bore together with the locking collar and opening provide an optical path for the camera associated with the smart device. The second clamping portion is adapted for connection to an image modifying device, such as a spotting scope, lens, night vision monocular, and so on, to thereby modify an image before it is received by the camera.

A flexible yoke or mounting body for a pod support apparatus, such as a monopod or bipod, includes a resilient section interposed between leg(s) of the pod support and a device supported thereon. The resilient section is preferably formed of a bendable elastomeric material to thereby facilitate manual tilting of the portable equipment on the pod support apparatus. In a multipod embodiment, the yoke or mounting body may include multiple leg extensions of elastomeric material for detachably securing multiple support legs thereto in angularly-spaced relation. An easily adjustable scope mounting head and stand. The stand includes a stabilized base with a vertical rod extending upward. The scope mounting head is attached to the vertical rod.
