The control method comprises the following steps of (1) dividing the grounding resistor into three sub resistors which are connected with each other in series; (2) distributing resistance ranges of the sub resistors; and (3) controlling the sub resistors to control the resistances of the sub resistors within their own corresponding resistance ranges. According to the control method for the grounding resistor of the rail vehicle, the grounding resistor is divided into the three sub resistors, and then the resistance ranges of the sub resistors are distributed and the sub resistors are further respectively controlled according to the resistance range so as to control the sub resistors within their own resistance ranges; therefore, the grounding of a vehicle body is controllable and the reliability in grounding is improved so that the stability and safety in running are enhanced.
