The bone resection jig used in artificial knee joint replacement surgery includes a spacer block (1) comprised of a grip (6), a hollow box (7) that is provided on an other end side of the grip and has a vertical hole (7a) therein, and a reference spacer part (8) that extends out from the hollow box (7) and is adapted be inserted into the resection region between femur and tibia; a reference pin guide (2) which, when the femur and tibia are in the flexion position, is inserted into the vertical hole (7a) of the hollow box, extends on the reference spacer part (8) to the other end side of the grip so as to come into contact with a resection plane (FH) of the tip of the distal end of the femur, and is formed with guide holes (9) for guiding reference pins (3) to be installed from a front side into the resection plane (FH) of the tip of the distal end of the femur; and an aiming member (12) which is, after the spacer block (1) has been removed from a space between the femur and tibia leaving the reference pins (3), brought onto the reference pins (3) by being guided thereby, the aiming member being provided with an indicator (14) that indicates a resection plane (FR) at a back of the distal end of the femur when the aiming member (12) comes into contact with the resection plane (FH) of the tip of the distal end of the femur.

Solenoid valve for brake system

A solenoid valve for a brake system, which has a simple constitution and can be easily manufactured with reduced manufacturing costs, is disclosed. A valve core is formed in a cylindrical shape, and has a through-hole formed in a longitudinal direction of the valve core and a fluid passage formed in a radial direction of the valve core so as to communicate with the through-hole. A sleeve is coupled to an outer surface of the valve core. The sleeve has a dome-shaped shielding portion at one end, and a flange portion to be fixed to a modulator block at the other end. An armature is slidably mounted in the sleeve. An exciting coil is provided to move the armature. A valve seat is fixed in the valve core, and has a first orifice. A plunger is mounted in the valve core. The plunger moves by movement of the armature to open or close the first orifice. A restoring spring is provided to press the plunger toward the armature. A filter member is coupled to the valve core to surround an outer surface and an end portion of the valve core, which are to be received in a bore of the modulator block. The filter member includes a filtering part to filter oil, a second orifice to rectify oil flow, and a check valve to permit oil to flow back when braking operation is released.

A power plant outputs motive power by driving a motor (22) using electric power from a direct-current power source (32). In the power plant in which a capacitor (30) is installed so as to connect a positive electrode bus (26) and a negative electrode bus (28) of an inverter circuit (24) and the direct-current power source (32) is also installed so as to connect the negative electrode bus (28) of the inverter circuit (24) and a neutral point of the motor (22), when a power source temperature (Tb) of the direct-current power source (32) detected by a temperature sensor (50) is less than or equal to a threshold temperature (Tblow) at which supply of required electric power to the motor (22) is possible, an electronic control unit (40) sets a voltage between terminals of the capacitor (30) higher than normal and also sets a frequency of a carrier wave lower than normal, and performs switching control of transistors (T1 to T6) Thus, a ripple of a neutral point current which flows into the direct-current power source (32) can be increased, whereby it is possible to promote calorification of the direct current power source (32).

An optical waveguide monitor equipped with an output light monitor having a decreased restriction in the dimensions and form thereof, a high reliability and a low production cost includes an optical waveguide element (having a plurality of surface waveguide portions, a connecting portion for converging and connecting the surface waveguide portions and an output light-outputting waveguide portion connected to the connecting portion each formed on a dielectric substrate plate; an output light optical fiber connected to an output end of the output light-outputting waveguide portion, a reinforcing capillary for reinforcing a connection between the optical waveguide element and the output light optical fiber and a monitoring light receiving means, wherein the reinforcing capillary has a hole or groove for containing and supporting the output light optical fiber therein, a connecting face thereof bonded to an output end face of the substrate, and a terminal surface opposite to the connecting face, to thereby enable at least one member of the reinforcing capillary per se and a monitoring light optical fiber located within the capillary to receive the monitoring light outputted from the optical waveguide element, to transmit it therethrough and to output it to the outside of the capillary, and the monitoring light receiving means is located in a position suitable to receive the monitoring light outputted to the outside of the reinforcing capillary and has a photoelectric conversion element.
