Managing cache coherency in a data processing apparatus

A data processing apparatus and method are provided for managing cache coherency. The data processing apparatus comprises a plurality of processing units, each having a cache associated therewith, and each cache having indication circuitry containing segment filtering data. The indication circuitry is responsive to an address portion of an address specified by an access request from an associated processing unit to reference the segment filtering data in order to provide, for each of at least a subset of the segments of the associated cache, an indication as to whether the data is either definitely not stored in that segment or is potentially stored in that segment. Further, in accordance with the present invention, cache coherency circuitry is provided which employs a cache coherency protocol to ensure data accessed by each processing unit is up-to-date. The cache coherency circuitry has snoop indication circuitry associated therewith whose content is derived from the segment filtering data of each indication circuitry. For certain access requests, the cache coherency circuitry initiates a coherency operation during which the snoop indication circuitry is referenced to determine whether any of the caches require subjecting to a snoop operation. For each cache for which it is determined a snoop operation should be performed, the cache coherency circuitry is arranged to issue a notification to that cache identifying the snoop operation to be performed. By taking advantage of information already provided in association with each cache in order to form the content of the snoop indication circuitry, significant hardware cost savings are achieved when compared with prior art techniques. Further, through use of such an approach, it is possible in embodiments of the present invention to identify the snoop operation not only on a cache-by-cache basis, but also for a particular cache to identify which segments of that cache should be subjected to the snoop operation.

A system for facilitating the search of video content, comprising a fingerprint extractor which is adapted to extract a fingerprint associated with a video content clip for specific time of video content; a fingerprint archive database from which database entries matching the specific time of video content are selected; a search module to which the database entries matching the specific time of video content are delivered, by which the searched database entries into continuous fingerprint streams are reconstructed, and in which the searched database entries from the same location and channel are grouped together, and the fingerprint data sections are stripped out of the entries and concatenated according to the segment ID and time-stamps contained within each entry; a matcher by which the fingerprint associated with the video clip is searched from the continuous fingerprint streams to find a match; and a formatter which is adapted to combine a matching result with additional information obtained from the archive entries to form a search report. The system according to the present invention can extract fingerprint information from video content for the purpose of archiving without the huge storage capacity required, can collect statistics and extract additional information from the archived video information automatically based on the user entered searching video clip information, and can search through video fingerprint data for identifying historical recording and collect statistics and extract additional information of video content easily at low hardware cost.

The invention discloses a vector data access and storage control method supporting limited sharing and a vector memory. The method comprises the following steps of: 1) uniformly addressing the vector memory; 2) acquiring the access and storage information; performing the decomposition, expansion and displacement circular arrangement on the vector address in the access and storage information so as to generate N sets of access and storage information; and 3) respectively sending the N sets of access and storage information to the access and storage flow line of the vector memory; and if the current vector access and storage command is the reading command, performing the opposite displacement circular arrangement on the N paths of writing-back data according to the shared displacement address to obtain the N sets of writing-back data and send the data to the corresponding vector processing unit in the vector processor. The vector memory comprises a vector address generator, a vector memory unit and an access and storage management control unit; and the access and storage management control unit comprises a vector address arrangement unit and a vector data arrangement unit. The method has the advantages of realizing the hardware at low cost, and supporting the limited sharing of the vector data and the non-aligned access.

Reflecting surface antenna double-beam forming design method

The invention provides a reflecting surface antenna double-beam forming design method. Through creatively introducing a double-beam covering area shape characteristic analyzing step in a designing process, a targeted initial beam acquiring manner and a corresponding antenna structure configuration strategy are made. Based on searching of a reflection plane scattered field focusing point under planar wave excitation according to a conjugate field matching theory, a rotation rule in long axis direction of a longitudinal movement beam of feed sources at two sides of a focusing point is utilized, and wave beam covering matching design is performed. Through feed source position adjustment, axial torsion of the whole reflection surface antenna system is performed, thereby improving beam covering matching property of double beams and performance of a restraining area, and furthermore improving gain of a double-beam coverage area after optimization. According to the reflecting surface antenna double-beam forming design method, according to a wave beam shape characteristic relationship, antenna layout and the like, and design principles such as a wave beam shape is adjusted according to the feed source position. A design order, a parameter selecting principle and technical details in double-beam design are described, and gain improvement of the double-beam coverage area is realized.
