Sea-based hydrogen-oxygen generation system

A method for generation of hydrogen and oxygen contained in a salt solution provides for the disposing a number of wind turbines on navigable collection vessels in waters distant from shore. The wind turbines have a large number of blades, typically 30, to provide high torque for generating electricity used for extracting said gasses from the atmosphere by means of electrolysis. The collection vessels are disposed in predetermined zones, which are changed when weather conditions provide better collection conditions elsewhere. The gasses are stored in cylinders located both on the collection vessels, and on storage vessels attached to the collection vessels. After collection the cylinders are transported to shore facilities for further purification and / or distribution.

Screw head recess structure and its driving tool

InactiveUS20110048181A1Maximize torqueImprove fastening qualityBoltsSpannersEngineeringClockwise
A screw head recess structure and its driving tool that maximizes torque are provided, applicable to any kinds of rotational fasteners, such as screws or bolts. A recess has an irregular shape formed by a plurality of lobular grooves arranged around the center point of a fastener as an axis. A plurality of facets of corresponding grooves along both sides of central lines is formed that receive forces when the fastener rotates clockwise and anticlockwise. As a driving tool having a matching configuration with the recess structure rotates the recess, moment arms of forces and reaction forces exerted upon corresponding facets are on the same central lines, thus maximizing the torque generated by the driving tool. In addition to maximizing the torque, the recess structure is also special in that on which ordinary driving tools cannot operate, thereby protecting the fastener against unwanted disassembly. Moreover, the depth of the recess can be kept shallow since operation of which is effort-saving. This makes the present invention especially suitable for applications that require compact and light fasteners.

Interlocking segmented coil array

Disclosed is a Segmented Coil Array (“SCA”) for use in rotary electromotive devices, such as motors and generators, which employ multiple coils operating within an axial gap magnetic structure. Individual conductor coils have offset circumferentially extending portions so as to allow interlocking of adjacent coils radially extending portions to form a circular array in which all of the coils' working conductors, which are those in the axial magnetic field, can be oriented in the same plane. This construction allows minimum magnet gap spacing, thus, maximizing the available magnetic flux. The resulting SCA may easily be commuted as a three-phase motor, actuator, or generator. The invention also provides a structure whereby multiple coil arrays and associated magnetic rotors may be alternately stacked in layers so as to further increase the total coil working area within a motor or generator of a given diameter.

Vertical axis windmill with weather vane positioning

Large flat blades are put on the ends of long lever arms to maximize the torque produced at a central vertical shaft. Pivoting each blade on its own axis allows it to be positioned to best advantage as it rotates around the central vertical shaft. The positioning is accomplished by gearing the blade to a central control gear. By simply attaching a weather vane to the central control gear, the direction of the entire windmill is controlled.

Internal combustion engine

An engine with expansion piston located on the end of a motion arm connected to the engine shaft. On the shaft, rotating compression pistons are mounted. The distance between the two piston types allows for the production of great torque. The geometry of expansion chamber and compression chamber is concentric toroidal. A pressure chamber stores the air-fuel mixture coming from the compression chamber to the expansion chamber and is therefore interposed between the two. The timing of the two or more sliding ports attached to the compression chambers determines the compression volume, while the valves control the communication of the pressure chamber with the other chambers.

Hybrid vehicle and control method therefor

An engine and a step up-down converter are controlled such that a counter-electromotive voltage of a first motor becomes higher than direct current-side voltages of a first inverter and a second inverter and thereby torque for forward travel is output from the first motor to a driving shaft through a planetary gear set, when an accelerator is on during specified travelling with gates of the first inverter and the second inverter being cut off and the engine being operated. The engine and the step up-down converter are controlled such that the rotational speed of the first motor becomes smaller and the voltage of the high voltage-side electric power line becomes lower when the accelerator is off than when the accelerator is on during the specified traveling.

Method for optimizing fuel injection timing in a compression ignition engine

A method for determining the optimum fuel injection timing angle in a CI engine provided with means disposed in one or more cylinders for measuring Indicated Mean Effective Pressure. The pressure level during the power stroke of a piston is a direct correlate of engine torque being generated, and the timing of fuel injection can increase or decrease the amount of torque. Thus, maximum torque can be obtained by optimizing the timing of fuel injection. An algorithm in the ECM varies the timing of fuel injection in a narrow range until a IMEP maximum is achieved, which timing is then retained and employed until the engine operating conditions change. Thus, the invention can optimize fuel economy by optimizing the torque obtained from each injection of fuel into the cylinders.
