The invention belongs to the technical field of oil field sewage treatment, and particularly relates to an oil removal agent for thickened oil thermal recovery sewage. The oil removal agent is prepared from acrylamide, N-benzyl-N-ethyl acrylamide and acetic acid vinyl ester through a free-radical micelle copolymerization method, and is 6,000 to 50,000, preferably 20,000 to 30,000 in molecular weight, wherein the molar ratio of the acrylamide to the N-benzyl-N-ethyl acrylamide to the acetic acid vinyl ester is 1 to (0.5-3) to (0.1-2.5), preferably 1 to 1.5 to 2. The oil removal agent has the advantages of easiness in preparation, high temperature and salt resistance and low cost, and the oil removal rate can reach 96 percent or above; moreover, subsequent crude oil dehydration is not influenced by recycled oil generated by separation. Thus, the oil removal agent can be widely applied to an oil removal process of oil field thickened oil thermal recovery sewage.
