Fungi cultivation on alcohol fermentation stillage for useful products and energy savings

A method of processing stillage from fermentation derived alcohol is disclosed, including dry-grind ethanol production from corn, by fermentation with filamentous fungi. This produces high-value fungal biomass that can be recovered by screening, is easily dewatered and used as an animal feed, human food or as a source of nutraceuticals. The methodology uses an airlift reactor to enhance the morphology of the fungi for easy harvesting and separation of water for recycling and reuse and to recover added enzymes and mineral acid with the water. The process also separates oil from the stillage. The fungal processing removes organic substances from the water that are otherwise inhibitory to the reuse prospects for the water, i.e. suspended and dissolved organic matter, including glycerol, lactic and acetic acids. The process also separates oil from the stillage by enmeshing the oil in the fungal biomass and can produce more oil through cultivation of oleaginous fungi. This approach generates revenue from low value thin stillage, while substantially reducing stillage processing costs, mainly by averting the need for evaporation of the thin stillage.

Method of resource protection, decrement treatment of town sewage and sludge

The invention discloses a method of reducing the town sewage and sludge and managing the resource belonging to solid waste treating technical field. The method is provided with following steps: diluting and breaking the dehydrated mud cake by sodium hydroxide solution, and stripping a large amount of organic matter in sludge, getting concentrated sludge and supernatant fluid by centrifugation; dehydrating the former after neutralization and regulation; obtaining a concentrated liquid and a filtered liquid after wind filtering and secondary ultrafiltration of the latter. The supernatant fluid contains lots of sodium hydroxide, and is reflowed to cycle. After disposal, the rate of water content of the dehydrate mud cake is reduced to about 70%, lowering 50% compared to the organic matter content before disposal, and lowering 2 / 3 of total mass. The concentrated liquid after ultrafiltration is mainly composed of organic matter with a large molecule such as humic acid, and with a low content of heavy metal. The pathogenic bacteria is deactivated which accords to the ''fertilizer utilization criteria'' of Ministry of Agriculture to produce a safe and efficient liquid organic fertilizer. The invention is suitable for the residual active sludge generated from the town sewage treating factory, for digesting the sludge and reducing the composite sludge and for managing the resource.

The invention relates to a low temperature and low hydration heat cementing concrete system used in the natural gas hydrate layer cementing field. The objective of the invention is to effectively reduce the heat release of the cement hydration, prevent the hydrate from decomposing because of large heat and reduce the harm of the hydrate to the cementing. The whole performance of the cement under the low heat release condition is improved by adding materials which can reduce the whole hydration heat release of the cement using G grade oil well cement as base material. (1) The proper addition of superfine slag with a specific surface area between 6000 and 12000cm2 / g can make sure the strength properties of the early and later stage of the cement. (2) The hydration heat is further reduced by adding fly ash with a lower hydration activity. (3) An amount of gypsum component is added so that the cement paste has certain expansion property at a low temperature to prevent the cement paste shrinking at a low temperature. The low temperature and low hydration heat cementing concrete provided by the invention has an obvious effect for reducing the whole cement hydration heat and a good effect for preventing the deep water hydrate decomposition.

A chemical-free and no-microbe method for pre-treating a broad range of waste waters is presented. The said method involves electrocoagulation (EC) operated in synchronization with electrolytic ozone (EO3). In the combinatory method, each technique not only applies its own treatments, they also create synergistic effects from real-time reactions among the reagents generated by electrolysis. Two refractory waste waters, seawater and tannery effluent, are tested by the combinatory method, EC+EO3, to assess the viability of the said method. Without adjustment, each of the said waste waters is remedied by EC+EO3 from its raw state to a clean condition more effectively and more economically than that can be delivered by the respective prevailing processes of pretreatment for each of the said waste waters.
