The invention relates to an engine cooling
system and a control method thereof. An engine comprises a small circulation pipeline and a large circulation pipeline, and a heat dissipation water tank is arranged on the large circulation pipeline. The
system is characterized by comprising an
electromagnetic clutch water pump, an electronic
thermostat, a driving grille, an
electric control fan and a controller, wherein the
electromagnetic clutch water pump is arranged on a converging pipeline of the small circulation pipeline and the large circulation pipeline; the electronic
thermostat is arranged on the large circulation pipeline; the driving grille is arranged on one side, facing the vehicle advancing direction, of the engine; the
electric control fan is arranged between the driving grille and the engine; and the controller is electrically connected with the
electromagnetic clutch water pump, the electronic
thermostat, the driving grille and the
electric control fan. The
system can respectively control the running speed of the electromagnetic
clutch water pump, the working state of the electronic thermostat, the opening degree of the driving grille and the rotating speed of the electric control fan according to the current engine
water temperature, the current engine rotating speed and the current engine air
inlet temperature. The
oil consumption of a vehicle is reduced while the
water temperature of the engine and the air
inlet temperature of the engine are kept in the optimal temperature interval.
