1 results about "Sweet potato storage" patented technology

The sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) is a very important crop for subsistence farmers in Africa and other developing countries. Due to its relatively short growing period, tolerance to drought and high yield from poor soils, it is used as a famine reserve for many of these households. However, it is a highly perishable food source that is susceptible to destruction by microorganisms, metabolic spoilage, physical destruction and pests. As such they are not generally stored for extended periods of time following harvest. This is a major barrier for the optimal use of the crop and causes a lot of waste.

A double cold source intelligent switching system for sweet potato storage

This invention discloses a dual-cold-source intelligent switching system for sweet potato storage, relating to the field of storage technology. It includes an intermediate chamber with storage compartments on both sides. A spraying assembly is installed on the lower side of each storage compartment, with a mounting plate on the spraying assembly. Sweet potatoes are placed on the upper side of the mounting plate. An air intake wheel is installed between the intermediate chamber and the storage compartments. An air intake assembly is installed on each storage compartment. A front fan and a rear fan are installed on both sides of the intermediate chamber. A refrigerator is installed on one side of both the intermediate chamber and the storage compartments. This technical solution utilizes both natural temperature for cooling and a refrigerator for cooling, resulting in significant energy savings. The spraying assembly in the storage compartment automatically sprays pesticides, ensuring a safe storage environment and greatly improving the quality of sweet potato storage.
