101 results about "Arterial stiffness" patented technology

Arterial stiffness occurs as a consequence of biological aging and arteriosclerosis. Inflammation plays a major role in arteriosclerosis development, and consequently it is a major contributor in large arteries stiffening. Increased arterial stiffness is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events such as myocardial infarction and stroke, the two leading causes of death in the developed world. The World Health Organization predicts that in 2010, cardiovascular disease will also be the leading killer in the developing world and represents a major global health problem.

Pulse wave velocity computation method based on wavelet transform

When the heart beats, ventricular ejection is performed to genertate a pulse wave which is transmitted to the whole body at a certain velocity. The pulse wave velocity (PWV) refers to the velocity of the pulse wave which is transmitted from one position of an artery to another position of the artery. The parameter is always used in the diagnosis of vascular diseases and particularly used to judge the degree of vascular sclerosis. When the degree of vascular sclerosis increases, the arterial compliance is reduced and the PWV is increased. The current noninvasive measurement method of the PWV is to divide the length of a blood vessel by the conduction time of the pulse wave in the blood vessel, thus how to correctly identify the initial beating point becomes a main problem for calculating the PWV. The computation method of the invention utilizes wavelet transform to extract the initial beating point of the pulse wave. The method comprises the following steps: the multiresolution decomposition method is utilized to decompose the pulse wave, the a'trous algorithm is used to ensure that the decomposition result has the same length of the original signal and the detailed and general information of the pulse wave can be obtained; and the result of wavelet transform is compared with the pulse wave, and an obvious peak appears at the initial beating point of the pulse wave in the decomposition result of the pulse wave, thus the position of the initial beating point can be obtained through the comparison of the decomposition result and the pulse wave.

Beverage dissolved with phytosterol and production method thereof

The invention relates to beverage dissolved with phytosterol. The beverage per 100ml contains 10-120mg of phytosterol. The beverage is prepared by the steps of production of a semi-finished beverage product, phytosterol dissolving and production of a finished product. The phytosterol is insoluble in water and is difficultly dissolved in water, and the content of phytosterol in common beverage is extremely low; and at present, patients suffered from cardia-cerebrovascular diseases, angiosclerosis, cholelithiasis and tumor due to foods with high fat and cholesterol contents can be daily on the increase at present; Chinese medical association notes that patients with abnormal blood lipid need eat 2g of phytosterol or 3.4g of phytosterol ester everyday, phytosterol can reduce cholesterol, repair tissues and inhibit tumors and is a new resource food or a health food supplement recognized by China, Europe, America, Japan and the like; phytosterol is dissolved in alcohol, is combined with beverage, and has synergistic interaction with a function of promoting blood circulation by removing blood stasis; the beverage can reduce cholesterol, is antivirus, oxidation-resistant and anti-aging, can diminish inflammation, achieves immune adjustment and the beautifying effect and inhibits blood platelet aggregation when being drunk in moderation; the beverage is beneficial to health of patients suffered from diseases such as cardia-cerebrovascular disease, gall stone, tumor and prostate disease when being drunk moderately.
