Provided is a method of makinga stretched, multilayer breathable film having the combination of properties of: (i) providing a barrier to microorganisms; and (ii) providing a barrier to blood and bodily fluids; said method comprising the steps of: (a) simultaneously extruding at least a five-layer film from a die, said five-layer film having as a minimum the following structure: C:A:B:A:C; where B comprises a microporous core layer containing at least one thremoplastic polymer and at least one particulate filler; C comprises an outer monolithic layer containing a hydrophilic polymeric resin capable of absorbing and desorbing moisture and providing a barrier to aqueous fluids and microorganisms, said C layer being substantially free of particulate filler; and A comprises a microporous adhesive layer for bonding said C layers to said core layer B, wherein said C layer sustantially prevents the buildup of particulate filler material on said die during said extrusion step; (b) stretching said extruded five-layer film to thereby form micropores in said microporous core layer and said microporous adhesive layer, wherein said stretching step is conducted and said microporous core layer and said microporous adhesive layers have been formulated so as to provide micropores which allow the passage of gaseous water but substantially prevent the passage of liquid water. Optically-activated particles for use in cosmetic preparations. The optically-activated particles include a plurality of substrate particles selected from the group consisting of nylons, acrylics, polyesters, other plastic polymers, natural materials, regenerated cellulose, metals and minerals; an optical brightener chemically bonded to each of the plurality of substrate particles to form integral units in the form of optically-activated particles for diffusing light to reduce the visual perception of skin imperfections, including cellulite, shadows, skin discolorations, and wrinkles; and each of the optically-activated particles are encapsulated with a UV transparent coating to increase the diffusion light to further reduce the visual perception of the skin imperfections. The encapsulated optically-activated particles are able to absorb ultraviolet radiation and emit visible light; and the encapsulated optically-activated particles are able to both scatter and absorb light in a diffuse manner in order to reduce the visual perception of skin imperfections, including cellulite, wrinkles, shadows, and skin discolorations, when the optically-activated particles are applied to the skin surface. The encapsulated optically-activated particles are used in the making of cosmetic preparations such as skin lotions, creams, shampoos, body and skin rinses, bath gels, soaps, hair conditioners, color conditioners and rinses, hair color solutions, foundation powders (compressed or loose), tooth pastes, oral rinses, and any acceptable cosmetic vehicle or medium.

[A method and apparatus for enclosing, controlling and suppressing the detonation of explosives in an explosion chamber is disclosed. The device comprises an elongate double-walled steel explosion chamber anchored to a concrete foundation, and having a double-walled access door for charging new workpieces, and a double-walled vent door for discharging the products of the explosion. The double walls of the chamber, access door and vent door are filled with granular shock damping material such as silica sand, and the floor of the chamber is covered with granular shock-damping bed such as pea gravel. Along the outside of the chamber are steel manifolds from which a linear array of vent pipes penetrates the double walls of the chamber, with each pipe terminating in a hardened steel orifice through which the explosion combustion products pass. Within the chamber, plastic polymer film bags containing water are suspended from steel wires over the explosive material, and at each end of the chamber.] A method and apparatus for containing and suppressing the detonation of explosives utilizing a sealable double-walled chamber having a floor, an access door and a vent door. The chamber walls are filled, and the floor is covered, with granular shock-damping material. Orificed vent pipes penetrate the chamber walls to vent explosion products into one or more exhaust manifolds. Water-filled bags are positioned around the explosive to absorb energy from the detonation.

Radiant energy losses are contained in the automatic system. The process and several special purpose machine components make a unified system for hardening liquid (600) such as molten metal in casting of aluminum alloy wheels or other metal castings, and also plastic polymer, rubber tires, etc., or food stuff, as in molded chocolate candy.

The polymer, namely the flame-retardant heat-resistant polyurethane foaming plastic, contains a residue structure obtained after reaction of heterocyclic polyol and polyisocyanate, and a flame retardant or flame-retardant polyol is added in the preparation process. The flame-retardant heat-resistant polyurethane foaming plastic is prepared by carrying out a reaction on heterocyclic substances, polyester or polyester polyol, polyisocyanate, flame-retardant polyol and the like, or adding the flame retardant instead of the flame-retardant polyol. As the heterocyclic structure is introduced in polyurethane, except for the characteristics of the common polyurethane foaming plastic, the flame-retardant heat-resistant polyurethane foaming plastic further has excellent heat resistance, corrosion resistance and more excellent mechanical property and is high-grade flame-retardant polyurethane foaming plastic; and a preparation process of the flame-retardant heat-resistant polyurethane foaming plastic is environment-friendly and non-toxic. The defects that the existing polyurethane is low in heat resistance, poor in flame retardance and the like are overcome; and the flame-retardant heat-resistant polyurethane foaming plastic can be dried at low temperature, is convenient to use and high in cost performance and can be widely applied to the fields of industrial construction materials, high-grade building materials, heat-preservation and heat-insulation materials and the like.

The invention relates to a rubber modifier and an application method thereof. The rubber modifier comprises the following components by mass percent: 70-90% of rubber powder, 5-30% of softener, 0-30% of plastic polymer materials and 0-10% of active agent. The rubber modifier works together with no less than 70% of rubber powder to consume a large quantity of waste rubber; since the softener is added to the rubber powder, rubber material becomes soft and the rubber powder and/or plastic polymer materials can be better swelled and dispersed into the asphalt mixture or asphalt; the rubber powder, the softener and/or the plastic polymer materials, and the active agent generate synergistic effects; the rubber modifier disclosed by the invention has excellent ageing resistance and low viscous flow temperature, can be used for preparing the rubber asphalt mixture by a dry method and also can be used for preparing the rubber asphalt by a wet method; the heating temperature of the asphalt and the asphalt mixture can be reduced. Thus, high-temperature aging of the asphalt is prevented and energy consumption and carbon emission are greatly reduced. The product disclosed by the invention is easy to store; the blending. Transportation and storage costs are effectively saved and the production cost is greatly reduced.
