Video background replacement system

A video background processing system is disclosed that is configured to receive a video stream including a plurality of successive first video frames at a first resolution. The system comprises a video resolution modifier configured to reduce the resolution of the first video frames from the first resolution to a second resolution lower than the first resolution and thereby generate second video frames. The system also comprises a foreground determiner configured to determine a foreground portion and a background portion in the second video frames and to produce first foreground data indicative of locations of the foreground and background portions in the second video frames at the second resolution, wherein the foreground determiner is configured to use the first foreground data to generate second foreground data indicative of locations of the foreground and background portions in the first video frames. The system also comprises a compositor circuit configured to use replacement background content and the second foreground data to generate combined video frames at the first resolution, each combined video frame including the foreground portion from a first video frame and the replacement background content. A corresponding method is also disclosed.

An imaging device for imaging an object to generate a color image data, comprising: a solid-state imaging element comprising: a photoelectric conversion layer laminated above a semiconductor substrate; photoelectric conversion elements comprising at least two kinds of photoelectric conversion elements aligned on the semiconductor substrate for detecting colors different from that to be detected by the photoelectric conversion layer; and a signal reading circuit formed on the semiconductor substrate for reading out color signals according to signal charge accumulated in the photoelectric conversion elements and signal charge generated in the photoelectric conversion layer; and a color signal generating unit for generating a color signal constituting one-pixel data in the color image data on the basis of signal charge accumulated in a first photoelectric conversion element corresponding the one-pixel data among the photoelectric conversion elements and signal charge accumulated in at least one second photoelectric conversion element, adjacent to the first photoelectric conversion element, for detecting the same color as that of the first photoelectric conversion element.

Panoramic video mapping methods based on main viewpoint

The invention discloses a panoramic video positive mapping method and a panoramic video reverse mapping method, and relates to the field of a VR (Virtual Reality) video. In the invention, according to the positive mapping method, based on a main viewpoint, regions I, II and III on a spherical surface are respectively mapped to corresponding regions on a plane, wherein the region I corresponds to a region with an included angle of 0 degree to Z1, the region II corresponds to a region with an included angle of Z1 to Z2, and the region III corresponds to a region with an included angle of Z2 to 180 degrees. According to the panoramic video positive mapping method, a spherical surface corresponding to a panoramic image A is mapped onto a plane square image B; and according to the panoramic video reverse mapping method, the plane square image B is mapped back to the spherical surface to carry out rendering playing. According to the panoramic video positive mapping method and the panoramic video reverse mapping method which are disclosed by the invention, a resolution of the video can be greatly reduced, a code rate of panoramic video encoding and complexity of encoding and decoding are effectively reduced, and the aims of reducing the encoding code rate and ensuring video quality of an ROI region are fulfilled.
