The Rydberg sensor can extract an in-phase component and a quadrature-phase component of the modulated signal. In active antenna radio system implementations, duplexers and filters can be removed to enable dedicated transmitter and receiver paths, while in passive antenna radio system aspects, the detected modulated signal is provided to the base station via an optical fiber.
