The present invention provides a device and method for antenna matching applied in a transceiver. Wherein, the transceiver has a transmission module and a receiving module. The antenna matching device includes a matching circuit, a duplexer, a circulator, a control unit, and a coupler. Wherein, the matching circuit adjusts the matching impedance according to an adjusting signal and generates a reflection signal. The duplexer receives the reflection signal and a receiving signal and respectively sent the received two signals to the control unit and the receiving module according to their frequencies. The control unit, according to the reflection signal, estimates the adjusting signal for adjusting the matching circuit to an optimal state of the load impedance of the matching antenna, such that the antenna gain may is maximized, and a best efficiency is obtained no matter during receiving or transmission.

A vertically stacked array antenna structure is described. The structure comprises a radiating layer, a passive layer disposed under said radiating layer, an active layer disposed under said passive layer, and an interface assembly. The radiating layer comprises an array of radiating elements. The passive layer has only passive components. At least a part of the passive components includes an array of RF duplexers corresponding to the array of radiating elements. The active layer comprises RF amplifiers. The interface assembly comprises at least one metallic frame which is in direct thermal coupling with the RF amplifiers. The interface assembly is configured for providing thermal communication of the active layer with a heat exchanger.

An apparatus and method for automatically matching a frequency of an antenna in a wireless terminal are provided. The apparatus includes a duplexer for classifying frequencies transmitted/received through the antenna of the wireless terminal, transmitting the reception frequency received in the antenna to an automatic matching module, and transmitting a transmission frequency, which is received from the automatic matching module, to the antenna; the automatic matching module for automatically matching impedance for the reception frequency received from the duplexer, transmitting the impedance-matched reception frequency to an amplifier, automatically matching impedance for the transmission frequency received from the amplifier, and transmitting the impedance-matched transmission frequency to the duplexer; and a controller for controlling the automatic matching module to automatically match the impedance for the transmission/reception frequencies.

A piezoelectric resonator of the present invention is structured such that on a substrate 5 having a cavity 4 formed therein, a lower electrode 3, a piezoelectric body 1, a spurious component control layer 16, and an upper electrode 2 are formed in this order from bottom up. The spurious component control layer 16 is a layer for controlling a spurious frequency, and composed of, for example, a metallic material, a dielectric material, or a piezo electric material. Dynamic optimization of both the duplexer circuit and an active antenna system is described to provide improved out-of-band rejection when implemented in RF front-end circuits of communication systems. A multimode/multiband mobile station and a method for operating the same are provided. A transmission module transmits multimode/multiband signals through transmitters. A reception module receives radio signals for different services of the same frequency band among multimode/multiband signals through receivers for the same frequency band, and receives radio signals of different frequency bands among the multimode/multiband signals through receivers for the different frequency bands. As compared with the conventional mobile station, the multimode/multiband mobile station can reduce the number of receivers by making use of one receiver to receive radio signals for different services of the same frequency band. The multimode/multiband mobile station can use a duplexer of the conventional frequency division duplex (FDD) technique (e.g., wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA)) in a time division duplex (TDD) technique (e.g., Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) 850 or Personal Communication Service (PCS) 1900).

An antenna array includes four closely spaced, linearly arranged antenna columns. At least two of the columns, e.g., the center two columns, are dual-polarized. A radio front end includes an antenna tuning unit, a duplexer, a balancing network, and a processing module. The antenna tuning unit is operably coupled to an antenna and operable to tune an operational characteristic of the antenna based on an antenna tuning signal. A resonator according to the present invention includes a supporting substrate, a piezoelectric layer, a pair of excitation electrodes, and a bonding layer. The piezoelectric layer is made of a piezoelectric material. The pair of excitation electrodes is formed on the upper surface of the piezoelectric layer so as to excite bulk acoustic waves. The bonding layer has a cavity formed therein so as to face the excitation electrode pair through the piezoelectric layer, and the bonding layer bonds the supporting substrate to the lower surface of the piezoelectric layer.

A piezoelectric thin film resonator having a stabilized temperature characteristic of resonant frequency, a method for manufacturing the same, and a communication apparatus using the piezoelectric thin film resonator are provided. The piezoelectric thin film resonator is provided with a substrate having an opening, first and second insulation films which are provided on one surface of the substrate while covering the opening and which primarily include SiO₂ and Al₂O₃, respectively, Al₂O₃ having oxygen defect and being in an amorphous state, and a piezoelectric thin film which is provided on the second insulation film and is sandwiched between electrodes and which primarily includes ZnO.

A front-end circuit for a wireless communication unit includes at least two antenna feeds. At least one of the antennas is coupled to an antenna switch. The circuit comprises filters and duplexers and is prepared to operate a number of FDD frequency bands. Each FDD band comprises an Rx band for receive signals and a Tx band for transmit signals. The circuit provides a single band operation mode for each frequency band and aggregated band operation modes.
