Method for prediction random defect yields of integrated circuits with accuracy and computation time controls

A method of computing a manufacturing yield of an integrated circuit having device shapes includes sub-dividing the integrated circuit into failure mechanism subdivisions (each of the failure mechanism subdivisions includes one or more failure mechanism and each of the failure mechanisms includes one or more defect mechanisms), partitioning the failure mechanism subdivisions by area into partitions, pre-processing the device shapes in each partition, computing an initial average number of faults for each of the failure mechanisms and for each partition by numerical integration of an average probability of failure of each failure mechanism, (the numerical integration produces a list of defect sizes for each defect mechanism, and the computing of the initial average includes setting a maximum integration error limit, a maximum sample size for a population of each defect size, and a maximum number of allowable faults for each failure mechansim), and computing a final average number of faults for the integrated circuit by iterativelly reducing a statistical error of the initial average number of faults for each of the failure mechanisms until the statistical error is below an error limit.

Extensible bayesian network editor with inferencing capabilities

A system for the representation, editing, evaluation, and inference of graphical models is disclosed which can be used to construct and evaluate a graphical model or graphical network and to calculate inference values. An efficient method of updating graphical models is demonstrated, and provides the basis for an improved system for manipulation and evaluation of probabilistic models. The graphical network editor is useful in the construction of graphical modes such as Bayesian Networks. The graphical network and network graphical user interface (GUI) are used in conjunction with each other to model a system wherein failure probabilities and the current state of components are taken into account to monitor the health and progress of a system for an engineer or engineering software to evaluate and monitor. The evaluation is useful in the monitoring of assets and other real systems having multiple, dependent, and independently operating components such as a pump, a manufacturing plant, a production line, an assembly line, where asset health and quality control is a concern. The asset components each influencing some overall outcome of a system or situation. Success or failure or probability of success, probability of failure and health of the system can be monitored and manipulated by altering the values of prior probability and posterior probability values. Failure correlation between components can be evaluated wherein failure rates of asset is unknown. Production and quality can be monitored and altered.

Automated knowledge system for equipment repair based on component failure history

The invention presents a computerized method for tracking equipment repair that begins by receiving an equipment identification of an item of equipment to be repaired from a user through a graphic user interface. The invention provides the user with a list of common problems for that item of equipment (and similar equipment) and a component hierarchy for the item of equipment. The invention allows the user to browse through multiple levels of the component hierarchy and select a major component, a minor component, or a subcomponent from the component hierarchy. The invention receives diagnosis input from the user optionally selecting one of the problems and / or a component from the component hierarchy and, in response, provides the user with detailed information regarding the problem or component selected by the user. Such detailed information comprises, for each direct subcomponent of the selected component (highest level if none selected), the number of failures, the probability of failure, the mean time between failures, the occurrence of the most recent failure for each component and the next expected failure, etc. Successful prior repairs for the same problem / component are presented including tool, date, time, technician, components involved and action taken. These successful repairs are linked to textual comments regarding the repair. Comments made for what is later determined to be an ineffectual repair are linked to the subsequent successful repair information.

The invention discloses an icon placement method and a mobile terminal of a display interface. The display interface comprises at least one menu page. The method comprises the following steps: starting an icon placement mode, and icons are in a floating state capable of being freely selected and being movable; detecting the number of the icons in each menu page, and recording menu page identifications (ID) which are less than singlepage icon valve values in number of the number of the icons; activating a floating window which is displayed on a current menu page, and the interior of the floating window is provided with page thumbnails corresponding to the recorded menu page IDs; detecting and recognizing operation which enables the icons of the current menu page to a page thumbnail in the floating window; and renewing positions of icons to be moved to interiors of the menu pages corresponding to the page thumbnails. The icon placement method and the mobile terminal of the display interface achieve fast and convenient moving operation of the icons in the different menu pages, can greatly reduce probability of failure operation, and are simple in function activation and exiting operation, high in intellectualization degree, and good in user experience.
