A system for optimising the production performance of a milk producing animal herd is provided. The system comprises a milk sampling apparatus, an analytical apparatus comprising separate equipment for analyzing compounds or parameters that in the presence of compounds indicative of the physiological or nutritional condition of the herd member, generates detectable signals, and apparatus directing a part of the milk sample (directing apparatus) to each separate equipment, which is controlled by data for the physiological and nutritional state of a herd member, so that the directing apparatus is only activated at pre-selected points in time or at pre-selected time intervals in the production and / or lactation cycles. Specific compounds are compounds indicative of mastitis, including beta-N-acetylhexosaminidase (NAGase) E.C. 3.2.1.52 and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), protein balance, including milk urea nitrogen (MUN) and total protein, ketosis, including acetolactate, beta-hydroxybutyrate, acetone and lipids, fat and state in reproduction cycle, including a steroid or peptide hormone, e.g., progesterone. Quantitative detection method for bovine alpha-lactalbumin

The invention relates to a quantitative detection method for thermal-denaturation and non-denaturation bovine alpha-lactalbumin in milk and milk products by applying an enzymolysis-liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry combination technology. The quantitative detection method comprises the steps as follows: taking a certain amount of milk or milk samples, dissolving and diluting the milk or milk samples in water to obtain solution with total protein content being about 1mg/mL; after volume metering, correctly sucking 500 mu L, adding an internal standard substance, reacting disulfide bond with dithiothreitol (DTT), alkylating to protect sulfydryl produced in reaction by iodoacetamide (IAA), and then conducting constant-temperature and constant-time enzymolysis with trypsin; and separating enzymolysis products by reversed phase liquid chromatography, conducting detection with a mass spectrum multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) manner, and calculating the result by an internal standard method. The quantitation limit of the method is 0.001g/100g; when adding amount is 0.2, 1.7 and 5.0g/100g, the recovery rate is 98.9-110.8% (n is equal to 6) and repeatability: RSD (Relative Standard Deviation) is smaller than 7.6%; and the quantitative detection method can be applicable to the quantitative detection of samples with different contents of bovine alpha-lactalbumin.

Rapid detection method of milk protein content based on dielectric spectrum technique

The invention discloses a rapid detection method of the milk protein content based on a dielectric spectrum technique. According to the rapid detection method, dielectric spectra (a relative dielectric constant spectrum and a dielectric loss factor spectrum) of a batch of milk samples within a radio frequency/microwave range are obtained by utilizing a network analyzer (or an impedance analyzer) and a coaxial probe, characteristic dielectric variables which express the milk protein content are extracted from the dielectric spectra, linear or nonlinear prediction models which are used for predicting the milk protein content are established on the basis of the dielectric spectra or the extracted characteristic dielectric variables within the whole frequency range, the models are inspected, and the model of which the root-mean-square error is the minimum is used as the optimum model for predicting the milk protein content. Data of the dielectric spectra under unknown characteristic frequency of the milk samples are substituted into the optimum model, so that the protein content of the samples can be calculated. The rapid detection method has the advantages of rapidity in detection, convenience, high precision, simplicity in operation and capability of real-time online detection.
