quality adjustment of each scene in display of an image, influence of a specific scene and time required for starting to apply the adjustment is avoided, and appropriate adjustment is applied. The broadcast receiving apparatus is provided with: a storage section which stores in association a kind of a scene and a setting related to
quality adjustment of the scene, and stores in association a kind of a scene which is likely to be displayed next with respect to the kind of the scene; a current scene recognition section which recognizes a kind of a scene being displayed, that is, a current scene; a next scene prediction section which refers to the storage section, and predicts a kind of a scene which is likely to be displayed next, that is, a next scene; a next scene setting preparation section which refers to the storage section, and prepares a setting related to
quality adjustment of the next scene; and an adjustment execution section which performs adjustment based on the setting prepared by the next scene setting preparation section at a prescribed timing with respect to the scene being displayed.
