Prime-number-based method and apparatus for generating random numbers

Random numbers are used for a variety of purposes and play key roles in systems such as simulation studies, information processing, communication, and encryption. Truly random numbers are generally the result of processes that cannot be successfully repeated to generate the same sequence of results, and thus are unpredictable. Pseudo-random numbers, on the other hand, are easily replicated as the output of deterministic processes. Such a series of pseudo-random numbers will eventually repeat itself in perpetuity once it has exhausted its cycle length. The claimed invention introduces a new class of random numbers called idem-random numbers that have many of the essential characteristics of random numbers but which may be successfully replicated at different locations and at different times and which will never repeat themselves. The claimed invention uses the characteristics of prime and prime-like numbers to create endless sequences of idem-random numbers. Idem-random numbers are produced by a.) identifying a seed prime or prime-like number, b.) identifying a process or condition for determining a subsequent prime or prime-like number, c.) applying that process or condition in an iterative fashion to yield a sequence of prime or prime-like numbers, d.) identifying a mathematical relationship or property which can be applied to two or more numbers in that prime or prime-like number sequence, and e.) applying that mathematical relationship or property to the sequence of numbers to provide a set of idem-random numbers. Optional application of a distribution-transformation process may beneficially create final idem-random numbers with specified distribution characteristics.

Apple breeding method

The invention discloses an apple breeding method. The method comprises the following steps: respectively conveying pollen of red-flesh and crisp-flesh strains to a castrated apple variety having excellent comprehensive characters to obtain backcross seeds; taking helium gas as a working medium, and performing non-ionizing radiation treatment on the seeds in a vacuum closed environment; sequentially performing seed soaking and seed priming treatment; building a seedling raising bed composed of a plurality of 8*10cm seedling raising troughs in a greenhouse, and filling self-made planting soil in each seedling raising trough; after the filling operation is completed, gently pressing the primed seeds into the planting soil according to a standard that the seeds are just covered by mud, wherein two seeds are sown in each seedling raising trough; and the seed sowing operation is completed, covering a semitransparent film on the seedling raising bed, and perforating the covered semitransparent film corresponding to the places where the seeds are sown and around the places where the seeds are sown. According to the invention, the breeding period is shortened, and the germination rate and transplanting survival rate are greatly improved, thereby enabling the population yield to reach the maximum and increasing the fine fruit rate.

Hydro-priming method for Chinese pine seeds

The invention discloses a hydro-priming method for Chinese pine seeds. In the method, the Chinese pine seeds are put in a plastic plate for priming seeds, and under dark conditions, the temperature of a working room is controlled to 10 DEG C; during the seed priming period, after 0h, 8h, 16h, 40h, 64h and 88h, based on the total water absorption amount, 53.6 percent, 14.5 percent, 14.5 percent, 8.3 percent, 5.7 percent and 3.4 percent of water are added into the plastic plate respectively, wherein the total addition amount of water is 30 percent based on the original mass of the seeds, and the priming period is 10 days; during the priming period, the plastic plate is periodically and fully stirred to guarantee the uniform water absorption of the seeds; and the treated seeds can be directly used for sowing, or re-dried for storage. The method has the advantages of obviously improving activity and resistance of the Chinese pine seeds and the seedlings burgeoned by the Chinese pine seeds, solving the problem that the seed quality is low, the problem that the burgeoned seedlings are weak in activity and resistance, the problem that the seeds cannot be stored again, and the problem that the seedling survival rate of the seeds is low when the seeds are used for direct seeding forestation or air seeding forestation in the Chinese pine seeds treated by the conventional seed-soaking sprouting, along with simple method, easy mastering of the technique, low seedling-growing cost and easy popularization.
