The shroud is a cover including a closed end, an open end substantially opposite of the closed end, and an intermediate portion that extends away from the closed end toward the open end. The intermediate portion includes a back side with a mouth opening that faces a user's mouth. The intermediate portion further includes a front side that is substantially opposite of the back side, with the front side being impermeable to airflow. Preferably, the shroud mounts over a windsock that mounts over the microphone. A flexible fastener may be secured to a portion of the open end so that the shroud more snugly mounts around the microphone. As such, the shroud shields a microphone from harsh environmental conditions such as wind and rain.

The invention relates to a filter for the separation of leukocytes from whole blood, comprising a hydrophobic support material and a polymeric coating material, whereby the surface of the filter has a critical surface wetting tension in the range 50 to 80 dyn/cm and the polymeric coating material may be obtained by polymerisation reaction of mixtures comprising hydrophobic and hydrophilic monomers. The invention further relates to a method for production of said filter and devices for the separation of leukocytes from whole blood and the use of the filter.

A circuit arrangement for driving electrical loads such as High Flux (HF) LEDs used as lighting sources. The circuit arrangement includes: a switched power source (10) providing a voltage signal switched with a switching frequency (Fsw) and having a given amplitude (Vout), and a plurality of cells (20) connected to the switched power source (10), wherein the LED cells (20) each include an LC decoupling impedance (50) for defining the intensity of the current flowing into the LED cell (30) from the switched power source (10). The LC decoupling impedance (50) includes LC components defining a resonance frequency (Fres) such that the switching frequency (Fsw) of the switched power source (10) is about one half the resonance frequency (Fres) of the LC decoupling impedance (50), whereby the average intensity of the current flowing into the cell is kept constant irrespective of the load on the LED cell (20).

Apparatus for filtering liquids, comprising flat membrane pockets arranged parallel and means for pressure-tight connection of the membrane pockets to one another and for coupling an extraction means. The membrane pocket includes a drainage element, which is joined surface-to-surface to two membranes and is enclosed in a pressure-tight manner at the edge. Adjacent membrane pockets are connected to one another and to the extraction means via one or more outflow bores and associated lines. To monitor temperature variations over a surface, the present invention employs a grid of thermoelectric wires imbedded into a carrier or body patch. The invention relates in general to an apparatus for holding a media storage disk, more particularly an apparatus having an improved central retaining area for the retention of the media storage disk, along with an optional securing means for engaging the media storage disk around its outside circumference. The disk-receiving portion contains a body portion which includes a circular outer retaining wall whose radius is slightly larger than media storage disk. The body portion also incorporates a central retaining area comprising a cylindrical hub, at least one arm extending radially and downward from the hub toward the body portion, and at least one additional arm opposite the first arm creating a hinge between the hub and body portion. Additionally the body portion may incorporate a means to secure the outer diameter of the media storage disk.

Inclination sensors with magnetic XMR- or Hall-sensor-principles were implemented in the past by the pivotably supported indicator magnet being supported on the front face of the axle of a pendulum, with the consequence that the static friction of the support had to be overcome first, before the inclination sensor would react. Thereby very small and very slow inclinations often could not be detected. These designs always have a large amount of hysteresis. According to the invention this problem is being solved by the indicator magnet being mounted either on a float, or on a pendulum that is being supported ferrofluidic, whereby the static friction is much smaller or eliminated entirely.

The controller (24) is pre-arranged for discriminating a value of capacitance associated to each electrode (Ji-Jn) in order to deduce the level of the medium present container.

The invention concerns a device for stiffening a flat component, a process for the production of a flat component, in particular a fiber composite component, and a fiber composite component. The device has a portion for producing a space for receiving a mold core for the transmission of a pressure for pressing the flat component and the device. It is characterised by means for positively lockingly and/or frictionally lockingly positioning the mold core in the space of the device. The process according to the invention includes the following steps: introducing the mold core into the portion of the device, positively lockingly and/or frictionally lockingly positioning the mold core in the portion of the device by means of the means, applying the device including the mold core to the non-hardened material layer or layers, pressing the material layers, and hardening the material layer or layers and joining the device to the material layer or layers.
