Central work-product management system for coordinated collaboration with remote users

A multi-component system for linking remote uses to a central work-product management system includes central processing device, central storage device, and a selection of different remote access devices and associated central system interface means for remote user to collaborate with central system licensee-owner work-product computer applications. The central storage device stores licensee-owner specific central application software associated with, licensee-owner specific data, and file and data management programs and the associated interface means allowing access to licensee-owner account by custom remote user specific applications The multi-component system for linking a remote user to a licensee-owner central work-product management system and devices are connected by the implementation of custom remote user specific interface applications which communicates with remote user devices, referred to herein as user process ledger modules, or UPLMs. After user recognition and access security is implemented, the UPLMs guide the remote user to limited segments of licensee-owner specific central system data locations implementing specific application procedures in the access to and development of the licensee-owner's and user's work-product. The central processing device implements the communications interface applications which upon remote user connection, recognition, and by access permission, executes associated specific UPLMs to exchange information with the remote user device, and implement any associated applications required for the processing of the remote user specific information, requested data input, data manipulation, or data output. Overall, the system provides an efficient, simple, highly direct, secure limited access mechanism for transferring specific user information from remote locations into an active central licensee-owner specific processing system accurately with minimal knowledge in the area of expertise of licensee-owner file and data management systems and associated application programs required for the development of a licensee-owner work-product.

Data storage system having an optical processing flying head

An optical data storage and retrieval system uses a flying head. The flying head is supported on a moving media having information stored in a plurality of stored data locations thereon. Information is stored in each of the plurality of media locations as physical structures capable of modulating the polarization state of incident light into one of two output polarization states. The flying head includes an optical processing assembly which directs an incident light beam having a source polarization state onto the moving media, accessing successive data locations. A reflected light beam having the source polarization state of the incident light beam modulated by a respective polarization modifying data location into one of the output polarization states is received by the flying head. The optical processing assembly optically transforms the modulated output polarization state of the reflected light beam into two return light beams having differentially modulated intensity related to the output polarization state of the reflected light beam. The two intensity modulated return light beams are optically coupled to a distal differential detector which outputs digital data representing the stored data information for the subject data location. A preferred embodiment includes optical fibers for coupling the incident and return light beams between the detector and the flying head. The optical assembly of a preferred embodiment includes an optical plate having pre-shaped and dimensioned recesses for automatically locating and aligning multiple optical components comprising the assembly. The flying head may also include a servo-controlled micro machined mirror for directing the incident and reflected light beams to and from the media.

Efficient distributed organization and management method for mass remote sensing data

The invention discloses an efficient massive remote sensing data distributed organization and management method, and the steps are as follows: (1) the first step: a remote sensing image pyramid is constructed according to an original remote sensing image resolution; (2) each layer of the remote sensing image pyramid is cut into blocks based on a Tile technology, and small blocks of images Tiles are formed; (3) based on a file storage system, a layered directory storing structure is built to store the small blocks of images Tiles in the second step; (4) according to the level of a given original remote sensing image and the latitude and longitude coordinate values of a location point, the name of the belonged Tile and the relative storage path of the Tile are calculated, and the quick query and acquisition service of the remote sensing data is realized; and a storage system stores the small blocks of images Tiles in the second step by building the layered directory storing structure; and (5) the architecture of a distributed storage system is adopted to store and manage the layered directory and the small blocks of images Tiles. The method of the invention can be used for effectively storing and managing the remote sensing data which are massive and have multiple sources, multiple resolutions and multiple wave bands, wherein, the layered directory storing structure has the advantages of simple and flexible structure, and easy and convenient data location, and can provide the quick query and acquisition of the remote sensing data, thus being provided with high effectiveness.
