Disclosed is an anchor rod supporting method applying a deforming energy-absorbing anchor ring for preventing an anchor rod from being broken and ejected, particularly suitable for soft rock large-deformation roadways or sections requiring energy-absorbing yielding supporting. According to the method, the anchor rod (1) penetrates through the anchor ring (2) having opposite holes, and by applying pressure to rock mass (10) by means of a tray (6) and a nut (4), deformation is prevented. When the stress of the anchor rod is increased, the anchor ring deforms in a direction along the opposite holes, and thus the energy-absorbing effect is achieved.
