Compensating for geometric distortion of images in constrained processing environments

An image processing method determines a geometric transform of a suspect image by efficiently evaluating a large number of geometric transform candidates in environments with limited processing resources. Processing resources are conserved by using complementary methods for determining a geometric transform of an embedded signal. One method excels at higher geometric distortion, and specifically, distortion caused by greater tilt angle of a camera. Another method excels at lower geometric distortion, for weaker signals. Together, the methods provide a more reliable detector of an embedded data signal in image across a larger range of distortion while making efficient use of limited processing resources in mobile devices.

Ratchet buckle with excess strap retention arm and double layered arm

The ratchet buckle for tightening a strap under a ratchet action provides a retention arm that constrains folded excess strap to the buckle to prevent it from flapping free during transport of cargo that the strap secures. A guard is provided outside a crank arm that is rotatably journaled to a base by a spindle on its forward end. The crank arm is secured to the guard intermediate the length of the guard with the guard extending rearward of the crank arm. The guard thus covers a ratchet wheel and the crank arm and with the crank arm forms an effective double-layered crank arm. The retention arm is rotatable on a handle shaft mounted to the guard rearward end, biased down onto folded excess strap.

Drain assembly for rapid installation in sanitary vessels

The present invention provides an improved drain assembly having a drain stopper assembly in operational communication with an actuation assembly. The drain stopper assembly includes an elongate one-piece housing with a longitudinal body coextensive with proximal and distal extents of the housing and defining a lumen therein. A flange portion at the proximal extent has a fluid egress for delivery of fluids from a sanitary vessel to the housing lumen. The housing body has an inner circumferential surface of predetermined inner diameter and an outer circumferential surface of predetermined outer diameter. A linearly reciprocatable drain stopper is provided that has a closure head proximate which an elongate shaft depends. The stopper reciprocates between a fully closed position, wherein the closure head obstructs the fluid egress, and a fully open position, wherein the fluid egress remains unobstructed. A securement region provided on the outer housing surface has a receiving region defined therewith and effects operational communication between the drain stopper assembly and the actuation assembly so that operation of a drain articulation member effects reciprocal motion of the drain stopper. In this embodiment, the housing, flange portion and securement region comprise an integral member. In an alternative embodiment, the drain stopper assembly has a multi-piece housing.
