Systems and methods are disclosed, especially designed for very compact hardware implementations, to generate random number strings with a high level of entropy at maximum speed. For immediate deployment of software implementations, certain permutations have been introduced to maintain the same level of unpredictability which is more amenable to hi-level software programming, with a small time loss on hardware execution; typically when hardware devices communicate with software implementations. Particular attention has been paid to maintain maximum correlation immunity, and to maximize non-linearity of the output sequence. Good stream ciphers are based on random generators which have a large number of secured internal binary variables, which lead to the page synchronized stream ciphering. The method for parsed page synchronization which is presented is especially valuable for Internet applications, where occasionally frame sequences are often mixed. The large number of internal variables with fast diffusion of individual bits wherein the masked message is fed back into the machine variables is potentially ideal for message authentication procedures.

LED lamp apparatus for vehicles

In an LED unit, all of eight LEDs are connected in series. The voltage of a power supply, that is, a battery of a vehicle, 12 V, is insufficient for the eight LEDs. To cope with this, a boosting circuit is provided within the control unit to boost the voltage to about 16 V which is then applied to the eight LEDs. The front end of the LED unit is connected to a constant-current circuit, and a voltage detection circuit is provided near and connected to this constant-current circuit for detecting the voltage applied to the constant-current circuit. The voltage detected by the voltage detection circuit is compared with a reference voltage drawn from the power supply, is amplified in an amplifier, and is input as a boosting control signal into the boosting circuit. The boosting control signal is output so as to regulate the boosted voltage in such a manner that the voltage detected in the voltage detection circuit is a lowest possible voltage.

Force transfer mechanism for an engine

A multiple watt-linkage force transfer mechanism is provided for an internal-combustion engine. The force transfer mechanism comprises two “bell cranks” that are used to drive a single crankshaft through a watt linkage mechanism. Each bell crank, in turn, is driven by two pistons through corresponding watt linkage mechanisms. The watt linkages connected to the pistons enable the connection ends of the pistons to travel along substantially straight paths, significantly reducing side loads against the piston walls. Also, all four pistons preferably drive a single connecting rod. This changes the role of the crankshaft—and the corresponding strength and rigidity requirements for the crankshaft—by reducing the necessary number of rod journals and main journals on the crankshaft.

When multipath signals (SV1′, SV3′) are detected in the first operating channel, at least a second unused channel is configured, via the microprocessor means, and connected in parallel to the first channel. The second channel has the task of searching the maximum amplitude value between the two amplitude values of the first operating channel. The receiver, in particular of the GPS type, can be mounted in the case of a watch and powered by the energy accumulator or battery of the watch.

A light-emitting-element array has a semiconductor layer formed on a current-blocking layer. Light-emitting elements are formed in the semiconductor layer by diffusion of an impurity of a different conductive type. An isolation trench divides the semiconductor layer into a first region and a remaining region, and divides the array of light-emitting elements into segments disposed alternately in these two regions, each segment preferably including one or two light-emitting elements. A first shared interconnecting pad is electrically coupled to the light-emitting elements in the first region by electrical paths not crossing the isolation trench. A second shared interconnecting pad is electrically coupled to light-emitting elements in the remaining semiconductor region by electrical paths crossing the isolation trench. The array can then be driven by a number of separate interconnecting pads equal to half the number of the light-emitting elements.
