The invention discloses application of a
protein and a related biological material thereof in increasing
plant yield. The
protein is the following A1) or A2) or A3): A1)
protein of which the
amino acid sequence is Sequence 2; A2)
plant-yield-related protein obtained by substitution and / or deletion and / or addition of one or more
amino acid residues on the
amino acid sequence disclosed as Sequence 2 in the sequence table; or A3)
fusion protein obtained by connecting a tag to the N terminal or / and C terminal of A1) or A2). The increase of the
plant yield comprises improvement of plant yield related traits, including at least one of spike length, number of spike grains, weight of thousand-grain, grain length, grain width, primary
rachis branch number and secondary
rachis branch number. The experiment proves that the protein and coding
gene thereof can be utilized to enhance the spike length, number of spike grains, weight of thousand-grain, grain length, grain width, primary
rachis branch number and secondary rachis
branch number of the plants, thereby increasing the plant yield.
