The invention discloses a method for sealing and storing 
carbon dioxide in 
basalt by adopting a 
butt joint well, and belongs to the technical field of carbon emission reduction. The method comprises the steps that firstly, a horizontal well is constructed, a horizontal well section is drilled by 1000-1500 m in the upper portion of 
basalt, and a screen 
pipe is put down for well completion; secondly, 3-5 vertical wells are constructed along the drilling track of the horizontal well section, and segmented perforation and fracturing construction are sequentially carried out in the middle of 
basalt, so that an artificial crack formed by fracturing is communicated with the horizontal well section; then, mine water generated by a 
coal mine is continuously injected into basalt from the 
wellhead of the horizontal well; and finally, CO2 is captured from a 
coal-fired power 
plant and the like and is conveyed to a vertical well site through a 
pipe, then the CO2 is cooled and pressurized into liquid CO2, the liquid CO2 is continuously injected from a vertical well mouth, and mineralization and storage of CO2 in the basalt layer are achieved. According to the method, efficient and 
safe storage of CO2 in basalt is achieved on the premise of low 
water consumption, comprehensive utilization of 
coal mine water is achieved, and remarkable economic, environmental and 
social benefits can be generated.
