The invention discloses a high-nickel type lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide single crystal precursor, which is a hydroxide of nickel, cobalt and manganese, wherein the primary particles of the precursor are in tiled arrangement and in the form of a sheet, and the secondary particles are internally loosely spherical. The invention also provides a preparation method of the above high-nickel type lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide single crystal precursor correspondingly. The method comprises the following steps of (1) preparing a soluble salt solution; (2) parallel adding the soluble salt solution and a complexing agent and a precipitating agent into a reactor containing a base liquid under the protective gas for carrying out continuous co-precipitation reaction; and (3) performing solid-liquid separation on the co-precipitation product in the step (2), and collecting solid phases for aging, washing, dehydration, drying and sieving treatment to obtain the above precursor. The invention also provides a high-nickel type lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide single crystal cathode material, which has excellent cycle performance while maintaining a high specific capacity.
