The present invention facilitates the specification and distribution of templated content materials by a content provider over an information exchange network such as the Internet. The present invention incorporates a system for managing inventories of graphical elements and their relationships to pre-defined page templates. A database capable of keeping track of users and their corresponding access privileges within the system is employed to monitor user activity. Ultimately, through the use of a software component delivered over the Internet for use within standard web browsers, end-users are able to populate templates under the constraints imposed by the rules of the manufacturers at the time of template design. These population elements which “fill in the blanks” of the pre-defined templates may be either of type IMAGE or TEXT. Image regions are populated by choosing from a subset of the entire image inventory, while TEXT types can be completely free form, with specific rules guiding justification, point size, font, and leading, or “fill in the blank” form with the same constraint rules as free form. Once the end user has met all of the criteria for a fully populated template, the system provides sophisticated means for downloading a high resolution file (such as a print-ready file or other file representation of the composed publication) which encapsulates all resources needed (layout, images, fonts, and constraint geometries) to fulfill the requirements of the publication. The downloaded file may be printed or published by electronic transfer, e.g., to a publisher for printing of the actual publication.

How to sign digital streams

A method of signing digital streams so that a receiver of the stream can authenticate and consume the stream at the same rate which the stream is being sent to the receiver. More specifically, this invention involves computing and verifying a single digital signature on at least a portion of the stream. The properties of this single signature will propagate to the rest of the stream through ancillary information embedded in the rest of the stream.

Method for fabricating a flash memory

A method for fabricating a flash memory is provided. The method contains sequentially forming a tunneling oxide layer, a polysilicon layer, and a silicon nitride layer on a semiconductor substrate. Patterning the silicon nitride layer, polysilicon layer, the tunneling oxide layer, and the substrate forms a trench in the substrate. A shallow trench isolation (STI) structure is formed to fill the trench up the silicon nitride layer. The silicon nitride layer is removed to expose the polysilicon layer and a portion of each sidewall of the STI structure. A polysilicon spacer is formed on each exposed sidewall of the STI structure. An upper portion of the STI structure is removed so as to expose a portion of each sidewall of the polysilicon layer. The polysilicon layer serves as a floating gate. A conformal dielectric layer and a top polysilicon layer are formed over the substrate. The top polysilicon layer, the dielectric layer, and the polysilicon layer are patterned to form a strip control gate, which covers the floating gate, that is a remaining portion of the polysilicon layer on the tunneling oxide layer.

Content performance assessment optimization for search listings in wide area network searches

A system and method for improving the relevance of search results given by, and favorable user experience with, a search engine by automatically detecting and removing search listings which are unusually infrequently selected by users from among other search listings. Data representing presentation of individual search listings as part of search results and data representing selection of such search listing by a user are accumulated and analyzed to evaluate performance of the search listing. Rates of selection of search listings are compared to rates of selections of search listings in similar and different positions within search results sets. Search listings with unusually low selection rates are marked from removal from the search database and / or are demoted from generalizing matching mechanisms to more specific matching mechanisms. Parameters of the accumulation and performance evaluation are adjusted according to the search volume of the search listing.

A red-emitting phosphor comprises a nitride-based composition represented by the chemical formula M(x / v)M′2Si5-xAlxN8:RE, wherein: M is at least one monovalent, divalent or trivalent metal with valence v; M′ is at least one of Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, and Zn; and RE is at least one of Eu, Ce, Tb, Pr, and Mn; wherein x satisfies 0.1≦x<0.4, and wherein the phosphor has the general crystalline structure M′2Si5N8:RE, Al substitutes for Si within the crystalline structure, and M is located substantially at interstitial sites. Furthermore, the phosphor is configured such that 1,000 hours of aging at 85° C. and 85% humidity results in a deviation in chromaticity coordinates CIE Δx and Δy of less than about 0.03. Furthermore, the phosphor absorbs radiation in the UV and blue and emits light with a photoluminescence peak wavelength within the range from about 620 to 650 nm.

An Automatic (Auto) Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Panel Washer comprising a main carrier joined by a connecting member to the main mast. A main hydraulic cylinder system comprising one or more hydraulic cylinders and connector arrangement on the main mast raises the main mast up or pushes it down, activating the connecting member, thereby raising or lowering the main carrier. The positioning hydraulic cylinder determines the angle of the main carrier by pushing one end down or bringing it up. A rotating device assembly rotates the main mast and main carrier clockwise or counterclockwise from rest position over its stationary post. The main carrier comprises a rigid frame with attachments including a cleaning assembly consisting of air cylinders with cleaning wiper systems, tracks for the air cylinder shafts, wash material pipes with spray devices attached, rinse material pipes with spray devices attached, and compressed air drying pipes with air spray devices.

Methods of proactive network maintenance by automatic creation of trouble tickets

Methods of automatically generating trouble tickets for network elements which are in failure and affecting network performance. The network elements are sectionalized into their basic components so that the failure in the elements can be localized and diagnosed. Once the failure has been diagnosed, a trouble ticket is automatically generated my network maintenance so that the repair of the element can be scheduled and undertaken. The trouble tickets are made available via the network to customers that are concerned that circuits on which they operate and which may be malfunctioning due to the network element failure can be kept informed of the status of the repair and the failure.

Portable lateral-support headrest

A portable headrest is disclosed providing extensive lateral support to persons sitting upright in chairs. The headrest is attached to the seat back of a chair, such as an airline seat or a geriatric chair, and is secured thereto with straps or other suitable means. A head-support portion extends well in front of the surface of the seat back and provides a rigid structure to support the side of user's head. Cushioning on top of this rigid structure ensures comfort. A base portion cooperates with the seat back and the head-support portion to maintain the position and alignment of the head-support portion. The headrest thus aids sleep for people who must stay in upright chairs for extended periods and alleviates muscle strain in infirmed persons while allowing them to sit upright.

Lift magnet mechanism for flywheel power storage systems

InactiveUS20080315696A1Minimal eddy current lossSizable power lossEngine componentsMechanical energy handlingMagnetic bearingEngineering
Electric power is stored in a flywheel assembly, from a dc power buss, and supplied to the buss, through electronics associated with a motor / generator, its rotor integral with a flywheel supported by magnetic bearings. Upon operation, the flywheel assembly is released by mechanical backup bearings which then normally remain disengaged until shutdown as the flywheel assembly is levitated by the axial magnetic field. Enhancements developed herein smooth the flux density across discontinuities or segments present in permanent magnets due to presently limited capability for manufacture of large annular magnetic members. Herein, the introduction of a medium such as a steel cylindrical member to directly interface with the rotor as opposed to the segmented permanent magnet, greatly eradicates induced eddy current and heat on the rotor. In addition, exhibited is an annularly slotted rotor which allows for greater surface area for flux absorption.
