Synchronizing Uplink and Downlink Transmissions in a Wireless Device

Synchronizing uplink and downlink transmissions by a wireless user equipment (UE) device. A connection with a network may be established via a wireless link with a cell. The UE may operate in an active state during first periods of time in which uplink or downlink communications may be performed between the UE and the network. The UE may operate in a reduced-power state during second periods of time in which uplink and downlink communications are not performed. The first periods of time may alternate with the second periods of time in a repeating manner. Uplink data generated by the UE may be buffered during second periods of time and transmitted during first periods of time. Buffering uplink data in this manner may prevent the UE from immediately transitioning from the reduced-power state to the active state to transmit uplink data, which may conserve battery of the UE.

A solid product formed by polymerizing a urethane prepolymer in the presence of a curative has a Bashore rebound that is less than about 38%. Preferably, the urethane prepolymer is an aliphatic isocyanate polyether prepolymer and the curative includes an aromatic diamine and a triol. To form a microcellular polyurethane material, the urethane prepolymer is frothed with inert gas, in the presence of a surfactant, then cured. The polyurethane can by employed to form highly damping CMP pads that have low rebound and can dissipate irregular energy and stabilize polishing to yield improved uniformity and less dishing.

Co-channel interference suppression by estimating the time of arrival (TOA)

The invention provides improved suppression of co-channel interference (CCI) in a wireless cellular communications system where at least two base stations use the same transmit frequency. The method according to the invention uses the difference in synchronization times between the home signal and the CCI signal to suppress the CCI signal. The method uses a modified known method of estimating time of arrival (TOA) to estimate sync positions for the CCI signal. This enables the use of interference cancelling methods in communications systems using un-synchronized base stations. Receiver performance is improved, which in turn improves data throughput and received speech quality, since interfering signals from base stations using the same frequency can be suppressed.
