The expansion restrictor device defines a deployed diameter of the stent structure to prevent the prosthetic valve from being over-sized upon initial deployment and / or from continued expansion in vivo. The expansion restrictor device may be a loop of suture, flexible line, thread or cord for defining or constraining a circumference of the prosthetic valve with a loop diameter that is less than or substantially equal to a diameter of the treatment site in which the prosthetic valve is to be deployed in vivo.

Methods and apparatus for removing emboli during an endarterectomy procedure are provided. The present invention provides a proximal catheter disposed proximal to a stenosis and a distal catheter disposed distal to the stenosis. Each catheter may selectively communicate with a venous return catheter via a manifold having a setting controlled by a physician. Blood flows into an aspiration lumen of the distal catheter and is reperfused into a remote vein via the venous return catheter. Additionally, emboli generated during the procedure are removed via an aspiration lumen of the proximal catheter, and filtered blood then is reperfused into the remote vein.

A prosthetic venous valve includes a frame and leaflets. The frame includes: (i) a generally hollow base disposed at a blood inflow end; (ii) a plurality of struts connected with the base and extending generally parallel to a direction of forward flow of blood from the generally hollow base to a blood outflow end; and (iii) inwardly oriented flanges disposed at the blood outflow ends of the struts. The inwardly oriented flanges of the struts enhance the sealing.

Thereby a clogging of a filter is detected early. As a result, it is possible to prevent from developing of the filter clogging by controlling a dosage amount of anti-coagulant properly and changing a flow rate of blood. The variation of the pressure wave may be analyzed by subjecting the variable to Fast Fourier Transform.
