Athletic performance monitoring systems include components for sensing performance data and/or displaying desired information to users. Electronic interface systems facilitate transfer of the data from the performance sensing system to a display device, e.g., to enable the display of athletic performance data on an electronic display device, including conventional electronic display devices that are known and commercially available (e.g., cellular telephones, PDAs, pagers, beepers, MP3 or other audio players, radios, portable televisions, portable DVD players, other video playing devices, watches, etc.). The sensing systems, as well as any data transfer systems associated therewith, may be included as part of an article of footwear, an article of clothing, a piece of athletic equipment, or the like, or even included as part of the interface device.

An apparatus and method for ejecting fluid from a fluid delivery system. The fluid delivery system has a pneumatic assembly that when triggered injects gas into a hydraulic assembly, which in turn ejects fluid through an external interface. An electronic interface displays various measurements, for example, how much fluid has been ejected and if the hydraulic system is closed the pressure of the system. The pneumatic assembly can also be depressurized such that fluid can reenter the hydraulic assembly through the external interface.

A human-electronics interface includes a first interface device that is responsive to inputs of a first form from a user and a second interface device that is responsive to inputs of a second form from the user. The first interface device enables the user to control the interface through inputs of the first form while the second interface device enables the user to control, through inputs of the second form, at least a locked/unlocked state of the interface with respect to the first interface device. In the locked state, the interface is unresponsive to inputs (in particular, accidental inputs or “false-positives”) of the first form whereas in the unlocked state the interface is responsive to inputs of the first form.

This invention includes a method and system for managing advertisements. The method and system of invention utilizes a searchable database containing advertisements accessible by a remote user, choosing the media environment desired for a proposed advertisement, searching said database for advertisements in the chosen media environment, selecting an advertisement and performing any modifications required for the proposed advertisement, and assigning each published advertisement a unique identifier whereby responses can be identified as resulting from a particular published advertisement. This invention also utilizes a database for coordinating the receipt of responses resulting from a particular advertisement, providing an electronic interface response system in communication with the database capable of transmitting pre-qualification questions to a remote source and receiving responses to the pre-qualification questions, and determining the effectiveness of a particular published advertisement based on the number of responses associated with each uniquely identified advertisement. This invention also utilizes the same workflow tools, management tools, and decision support measurements to enhance the timeliness and control of advertisements.

An electronic control apparatus configured for use in routing customer orders, received over the internet, to a service provider such as a print service provider selected from a plurality of competing print service providers, comprises an electronic interface configured to receive and acknowledge customer orders; first processing means configured to compare the requirements of a received order with pre-stored information specific to each of the competing service providers; responsive means configured to establish a list of the service providers determined to be able to fulfill requirements of the received order; and processing means configurable, for a received order, to make the selection from the list and to route the received order to the selected service provider. An improved mechanism for intelligently presenting questions through an electronic interface is disclosed. A rule server receives information identifying a set of answers from a user corresponding to a first set of questions presented to that user. In response, analysis is performed upon the set of received answers. A first determination is then made of whether any questions from the first set of questions need to be answered again based upon rules governing responsive answers. Next, a second determination is made of the composition of a second set of questions. The first determination and second determination may be performed at a rule server or an application tier. The second set of questions is then presented to a user through an electronic interface. Suggested answers to the second set of questions may also be presented to the user through an electronic interface contemporaneously with the second set of questions.

The optical touchpad may enable a determination as to whether the object is engaged with the touchpad or hovering just above the touchpad. When the object is in contact with the optical touchpad, the optical touchpad may enable a determination of the force applied by the object to the optical touchpad. The optical touchpad may enable a determination of an object type of the object. These and other determinations of information related to the object may enhance the control provided by the touchpad system to the user as an electronic interface. A new class of microwires and a method for their assembly from suspensions of metallic nanoparticles in water under the influence of dielectrophoretic forces. The wires are formed in the gaps between planar electrodes in an alternating current (AC), allowing manipulation of the particles without the interference of electro-osmotic and electro-chemical effects resent in direct current (DC) systems. The structures created cover a new size domain of microwires of micrometer diameter and millimeter to centimeter length, closing the gap between tradition metallic wires and the more recently synthesized nanowires and carbon tubes. A docking station for one or more x-ray detectors is disclosed and designed to secure an x-ray detector when not in use to limit exposure of an x-ray detector to drops, jars, and other potentially damaging incidents. The docking station may be equipped to regulate the temperature of a stored x-ray detector. A trolling motor control system that includes a main controller configured interface with a trolling motor. The main controller is configured to control the output power and directional heading of the trolling motor. In at least one embodiment, the main controller has an electronic interface configured to establish a two-way day data connection between the main controller and an electronic GPS-equipped mapping device. This two-way connection allows the main controller to use data stored on the GPS-equipped mapping device to execute functions of the trolling motor control system. Muscle activity is detected by the two wearable EMG devices and corresponding communication signals are transmitted to an electronic device to control functions thereof. The two wearable EMG devices may communicate with one another. This configuration enables a user to perform elaborate gestures having multiple components (e.g., “two-arm” gestures) with each wearable EMG device detecting a different component, as well as separate gestures (e.g., separate “one-arm” gestures) individually detected and processed by each wearable EMG device.

Systems, articles, and methods for wearable human-electronics interfaces are described. A wearable human-electronics interface device includes a band that in use is worn on an appendage (e.g., a wrist, arm, finger, or thumb) of a user. The band carries multiple sensors that are responsive to vibrations. The sensors are physically spaced apart from one another on or within the band. The band also carries an on-board processor. The sensors detect vibrations at the appendage of the user when the user performs different finger tapping gestures (i.e., tapping gestures involving different individual fingers or different combinations of fingers) and provide corresponding vibration signals to the processor. The processor classifies the finger tapping gesture(s) based on the vibration signals and an on-board transmitter sends a corresponding signal to control, operate, or interact with a receiving electronic device. The sensors include inertial sensors, digital MEMS microphones, or a combination thereof.

360-degree panoramic camera systems include a plurality of modular cameras positioned at angular intervals to capture images around a 360-degree field of view, a camera-housing module configured to at least house the plurality of cameras, an electronic interface coupled to each camera, and an imaging system coupled to the electronic interface. The camera systems utilize technology that processes fixed images or raw video streams at a minimum of 24 frames per second. In so doing, these systems produce a high-resolution, seamless image of objects within the 360-degree field of view.
