1115 results about "Life length" patented technology

Life Length is a Spanish biotechnology research and application company located in Madrid, Spain. The company was founded in 2010 by Stephen J. Matlin to study life expectancy using proprietary telometric analysis technology (TAT) for measuring telomere length. The technology used is based on HT Q-FISH (High Throughput Quantitative Fluorescence in site Hybridization) which was originally developed in the laboratory of scientist Maria Blasco, current Director of the National Center for Oncology Research in Spain (CNIO).

Variable gain active noise canceling system with improved residual noise sensing

An active noise cancellation system includes a series of features for more effective cancellation, greater reliability, and improved stability. A particular feature adapted for headset systems includes locating a residual microphone radially offset from the center of a sound generator to detect a signal more similar to that incident upon the eardrum of the user. In addition, an open back headset design includes perforations on the side of the headset instead of the back, so that the perforations are less susceptible to inadvertent blockage. The system also includes a mechanism for detecting changes in the acoustic characteristics of the environment that may be caused, for example, by pressure exerted upon the earpieces, and that may destabilize the cancellation system. The system automatically responds to such changes, for example, by reducing the gain or the frequency response of the system to preserve stability. The system further includes other methods for detecting imminent instability and compensating, such as detecting the onset of signals within enhancement frequencies characteristic of the onset of instability, and adjusting the gain or frequency response of the system or suppressing the enhanced signals. The system further includes a mechanism for conserving battery life by turning the system off when sound levels are low, or adjusting the power supply to the system to correspond to the current power requirements of the system.

Arrangement for generating extreme ultraviolet (EUV) radiation based on a gas discharge

The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for generating extreme ultraviolet (EUV) radiation, i.e., radiation of high-energy photons in the wavelength range from 11 to 14 nm, based on a gas discharge. The object of the invention, to find a novel possibility for generating EUV radiation in which an extended life of the system is achieved with stable generation of a dense, hot plasma column, is met according to the invention in that a preionization discharge is ignited between two parallel disk-shaped flat electrodes prior to the main discharge by a surface discharge along the superficies surface of a cylindrical insulator with a plasma column generated through the gas discharge with pulsed direct voltage, which preionization discharge carries out an ionization of the working gas in the discharge chamber by means of fast charged particles. The preionization discharge is triggered within a first electrode housing and the main discharge takes place between a narrowed output of the first electrode housing and a part of the second electrode housing close to the outlet opening of the discharge chamber. The plasma develops in a part of the second electrode housing covered by a tubular insulator and, as a result of the current-induced magnetic field, contracts to form a dense, hot plasma column, one end of which is located in the vicinity of the outlet opening of the second electrode housing.

The invention provides a vibration fatigue life predication method and system for a micro-packaging assembly. The method comprises the following steps: creating a vibration simulating finite element model according to the structures of the micro-packaging assembly and a fixing part; extracting the verification characteristics parameters; modifying the vibration simulating finite element model according to the verification characteristics parameters and the experimental characteristics parameters of the micro-packaging assembly to obtain a vibration simulating model; performing random vibration stress response simulation analysis for the micro-packaging assembly according to the vibration simulation model to obtain a dangerous vibration fatigue point; extracting equivalent stress power spectrum density of the dangerous vibration fatigue point under the random vibration load; converting the equivalent stress power spectrum density to obtain cyclic stress time domain data; calculating the vibration fatigue life of the dangerous vibration fatigue point under the random vibration load according to an S-N curve and the cyclic stress time domain data of the dangerous vibration fatigue point; predicating the vibration fatigue life of the micro-packaging assembly by the method of synchronously extracting the response data of the fixing part and the micro-packaging assembly. With the adoption of the method and system, the testing accuracy is improved.

Dynamic capacity increasing method for oil-immersed transformer

The invention relates to a dynamic capacity increasing method for an oil-immersed transformer, and belongs to the field of transformers. The method includes the steps that heat conduction process in the transformer is simplified into a circuit model; winding hot-spot temperature, top oil temperature, average oil temperature, average winding temperature of the transformer under the current load condition are calculated; according to the limit that the winding hot-spot temperature does not exceed 140 DEG C, whether temperature in the transformer will exceed the limit temperature or not under the current load and environment conditions is calculated, whether a temperature limit value is reached or not if long-term emergency loads or short-term emergency loads occur at the moment is calculated, and if the temperature in the transformer possibly exceeds the limit value of the short-term emergency loads, the time for reaching the limit value and the finally reached steady state temperature are calculated to serve as alarm signals; if it is monitored that the temperature will exceed the standard within t minutes, an early-warning signal is sent out, certain time delay is set, and if the loads are not reduced within the set time delay, a cooling fan of the transformer is turned on. Long-term continuous operation of cooling equipment can be avoided, and operation life of the cooling equipment is prolonged.
