Pet safety enclosure method and apparatus

A portable self erecting pet enclosure which provides protection to domesticated animals when the animals are introduced into hostile or new environments. The pet enclosure design has a support system and a nylon webbing cover. The support system is constructed of two concentric flat spring wire loops each having substantially the same diameter. The support system has a foundational bottom loop and a supporting frame loop. The foundational bottom loop defines the outer perimeter of the floor and the supporting frame loop is arranged in a saddleback configuration to support the roof. The supports are contained within support sleeves which are sewn onto the nylon webbing. The pet enclosure apparatus has a small insertion port and a large extraction port. The small insertion port is for easily inserting the animal into the enclosure. The large extraction port is designed so that the pet owner can easily remove the animal. The nylon webbing has a weave spacing which is narrow enough to prevent the animal's paws or jaws from extending out of the pet enclosure, but provides enough space for the cat to pull on the webbing which acts as a modified scratching post. The webbing is strong enough to resist tearing and or ripping of the fibers. The portable self-erecting pet enclosures can be arranged in groups and connected to one another or to a pet door of an existing house through the use of a conduit constructed of the same material.

Shin guard with enhanced tibial protection

An athletic body protective product such as a shin guard with enhanced protection against direct impact to bone structure shin. The guard includes a storage package formed of moisture-impervious material and sealable to prevent entry of moisture, a flexible protective guard positioned in the storage package and sealed therein against entry of moisture for being custom-formed to the shape of the shin while flexible and upon hardening providing a rigid, supporting custom fit. The guard includes a reactive system impregnated into or coated onto a substrate, the system remaining stable when maintained in substantially moisture-free conditions and hardening upon exposure to sufficient moisture to form a rigid, self supporting structure. A flexible pad is positioned on one side of the substrate along its length to provide a cushioning barrier between the hardened substrate and the protected bone of the athlete when the protective guard is in use. An elongate cover encloses the substrate on a side of the substrate opposite the protective pad, The substrate, protective pad and cover are joined together to form a unitary structure. An elongate, narrow, supplemental bone protection pad is positioned relative to the shape of the protective pad so as to reside in overlying relation to the shin bone for providing supplemental protection against direct impact.

Room-temperature terahertz wave detector

The invention relates to a room-temperature terahertz wave detector which uses a transistor with high electron mobility as a basic structure and comprises an antenna capable of efficiently coupling with terahertz waves, wherein the antenna and the transistor with high electron mobility are integrally arranged, but the antenna is mutually independent from the source electrode and drain electrode of the transistor with high electron mobility; a pair of butterfly antennae are connected between the source electrode and the drain electrode so as to generate a crosswise terahertz electric field in an electron channel; and one butterfly antenna is connected to the drain electrode of the transistor with high electron mobility so as to generate a lengthways terahertz electric field in the electron channel. By utilizing the detector provided by the invention, the regulation and control carried out on the two-dimensional plasma wave by the grid electrode of the transistor with high electron mobility can be effectively enhanced, and the terahertz wave can be detected with high speed, high efficiency, high sensitivity and low noise; simultaneously, under the working condition of room temperature, the application scope of terahertz wave can be obviously widened, and the application cost can be lowered; and, the room-temperature terahertz wave detector can be manufactured by using a semiconductor micro-processing technique with minimized device structure and high integrated level.
