This equilibrium line (10) can then be employed to evaluate relative investment performance among the members of the population independently of market conditions because it is based on internal benchmarks. Since the equilibrium line (10) is not based on benchmarks that exist externally to the population, the measure of investment performance is unbiased and unaffected by market changes resulting in an improved method to evaluate investment performance.
