14 results about "Metaplasia" patented technology

Metaplasia (Greek: "change in form") is the transformation of one differentiated cell type to another differentiated cell type. The change from one type of cell to another may be part of a normal maturation process, or caused by some sort of abnormal stimulus. In simplistic terms, it is as if the original cells are not robust enough to withstand their environment, so they transform into another cell type better suited to their environment. If the stimulus causing metaplasia is removed or ceases, tissues return to their normal pattern of differentiation. Metaplasia is not synonymous with dysplasia, and is not considered to be an actual cancer. It is also contrasted with heteroplasia, which is the spontaneous abnormal growth of cytologic and histologic elements. Today, metaplastic changes are usually considered to be an early phase of carcinogenesis, specifically for those with a history of cancers or who are known to be susceptible to carcinogenic changes. Metaplastic change is often viewed as a premalignant condition that requires immediate intervention, either surgical or medical, because metaplasia is associated with cancer.

Application of IL-17a in treatment of age-related olfactory dysfunction

The invention relates to the technical field of biological medicine, provides novel application of IL-17a, and particularly relates to application of an IL-17a inhibitor in preparation of a medicine for treating age-related olfactory dysfunction. The research result shows that the expression increase of the IL-17a can trigger an inflammation signal and damage the olfactory function. Administration of the IL-17a inhibitor Y-320 or a neutralizing antibody promotes sensory neuron regeneration in the olfactory epithelium (OE) and reverses age-related respiratory metaplasia. In addition, conditional knockout of IL-17a in T cells can promote olfactory epithelium regeneration by promoting recruitment and differentiation of horizontal basal cells (HBCs) into globular basal cells (GBCs). In general, the research of the invention determines the previously undetermined effect of the IL-17a in olfactory epithelium regeneration and age-related olfactory function defects, and provides evidence for the IL-17a as a potential therapeutic target for olfaction of the elderly.

Recombinant blood group antigen-binding adhesin (BabA) can be used in a composition to raise humoral immune response i.e. antibodies, that target conserved structural epitopes in the fucosylated blood group antigen Lewis b (Leb) antigen binding domain in the blood group antigen-binding adhesin (BabA). Such broadly Leb-blocking antibodies can reduce the gastric mucosal attachment of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) to human gastric mucosa. This approach can be used for preventing and / or alleviating gastric disease in a subject diagnosed with H. pylori infection, said gastric disease chosen from gastroesophageal reflux disease, chronic active gastritis, peptic ulcer diseases, gastric ulcer disease, gastric cancer gastritis and gastric cancer, in particular gastric cancer. It also becomes possible to identify subjects that carry BabA positive H. pylori infections and subjects that are at risk of developing severe gastric disease, such as peptic ulcer diseases, gastric ulcer disease, gastritis with metaplasia and gastric cancer.

The invention belongs to the technical field of medical experimental animal models, and particularly relates to a construction method of a spleen and stomach damp-heat syndrome chronic atrophic gastritis animal model. The construction method comprises the following steps: firstly, performing spleen and stomach damp-heat modeling on a tested animal to obtain spleen and stomach damp-heat syndromes, and then performing chronic atrophic gastritis induction. According to the specific three-step atrophic gastritis induction method, the clinical pathological process of inflammation caused by stimulation, gastric mucosa atrophy caused by damp heat and blood stasis for a long time and intestinal metaplasia can be accurately copied, the clinical pathological process is highly matched with the stage progress characteristic of clinical chronic atrophic gastritis, and the model is high in success rate, good in stability and high in repeatability.

Application of polypeptide to prevention and / or treatment of gastrointestinal metaplasia

The invention relates to the technical field of medicines, in particular to application of polypeptide in prevention and / or treatment of gastrointestinal metaplasia. The polypeptide with the amino acid sequence of KIVFILCAAAAIVTRKT is found and verified for the first time and can target a molecular polypeptide of an intestinal key transcription factor CDX2 and a downstream signal channel of the CDX2, expression of the CDX2 and expression of the downstream signal channel of the CDX2 can be inhibited, expression of a stomach type marker can be promoted, the pathological process of GIM can be effectively reversed, and the GIM can be used for preparing a medicine for treating intestinal diseases. Compared with medicines which can only relieve symptoms or delay progression in the prior art, the medicine can realize pathological reversion of the GIM, so that a new direction can be provided for development of intervention medicines of the GIM.

Method for co-culturing mouse olfactory organoids and T cells and application of mouse olfactory organoids and T cells

The invention provides a co-culture method and application of mouse olfactory organoid and T cells. An age-related olfactory disorder (OD) organ model is constructed by co-culturing mouse olfactory organs and Th17 cells, and is used for exploring the pathogenesis of olfactory disorder, screening pathogenic genes and establishing a new method for treating olfactory disorder. Experimental results show that Tuj1 [+] and OMP [+] cells are significantly reduced after co-culture with Th17 cells; krt19 [+] cells are obviously increased and show strong intracellular staining, which indicates metaplasia and transformation; the contents of Muc5ac [+] mucus cells and secretions are increased; after 14 days of co-culture, both young and aged organs have obvious cystic structures, and the change of the aged organs is more obvious. Importantly, the IL-17a neutralizing antibody can effectively block the pedigree transformation to maintain the olfactory differentiation potential, so that the key effect of the IL-17a in regulating and controlling the cell fate decision is disclosed. It is shown that the inflammation microenvironment in the age-related OD patient can be simulated by co-culturing the olfactory organoid and the Th17 cells.

Traditional Chinese medicine composition for treating chronic atrophic gastritis with intestinal metaplasia and preparation method thereof

The invention provides a traditional Chinese medicine composition for treating chronic atrophic gastritis with intestinal metaplasia, which is prepared from 16 medicinal materials, namely ginseng, vinegar turtle shell, curcuma zedoary, astragalus membranaceus, bighead atractylodes rhizome, poria cocos, radix bupleuri, white paeony root, pericarpium citri reticulatae, rhizoma pinelliae preparata, angelica sinensis, moutan bark, fructus amomi, almond, cassia twig and honey-fried licorice root, and a specific process that the vinegar turtle shell is crushed to 3-5mm and then decocted is adopted. According to the treatment principle of tonifying qi, promoting tissue regeneration, dredging collaterals, removing food retention and guiding ascending and descending, astragalus membranaceus and ginseng are matched to tonify qi and promote mucosa regeneration; vinegar turtle shell and curcuma zedoary can enter collaterals to remove blood stasis and remove food retention; the almonds and the cassia twigs are matched to form a Qi movement guide of ventilating and dredging, so that the medicine accurately acts on the gastric submucosa. Through clinical observation of 120 patients with chronic atrophic gastritis accompanied with intestinal metaplasia, the total effective rate is 96.7%, the obvious effective rate is 91.7%, the mucosa improvement rate under a gastroscope is 92.5%, the intestinal metaplasia reversal rate is 68.3%, the recurrence rate is only 3.3% after 6 months, and the occurrence rate of liver and kidney dysfunction of the patients is 0%. The contrast experiment further proves that the intestinal metaplasia reversion rate is only 42.5% after the apricot kernels and the cassia twigs are removed. The traditional Chinese medicine composition can quickly reverse atrophy and intestinal metaplasia, promote mucosa repair, protect healthy qi and reduce relapse, and overcomes the defects that a traditional blood stasis dispersing and tonifying prescription is prone to injuring healthy qi, assists dampness and heat and is low in reversion rate.
