The invention relates to a control method for protecting electric steering gear in sustained overload. The control method comprises the following steps: S1, the electric steering gear takes a c-position ring correction loop as a
control system, takes an
angular displacement output quantity of the electric steering gear as a position feedback
signal, and drives a motor of the electric steering gear to rotate according to a PWM
signal output after the control solution; S2, a
current sensor is added in the
control system of the electric steering gear to acquire a current
signal of the electric steering gear; S3, when the sampled current signal is greater than a current reference value of the electric steering gear component, the
power output of the electric steering gear is turned off; and S4, a gear instruction and the deviation information are combined, when the sampled current signal is greater than the load current reference value and the gear feedback is greater than the gear feedback reference value, the
power output of the electric steering gear is turned off. By using the control method disclosed by the invention, the security of the steering gear can be effectively improved to realize the protection function of the steering gear under the sustained large load, thereby preventing the steering gear from losing efficiency under the sustained large load and preventing the component from damaging under the large current condition.
