InactiveUS20030003421A1Increase the patient's comfortPromote healingTeeth fillingCoffinsOral treatmentAdhesive
Disposable dental mouthpiece-strip which has been pre-impregnated with dental substance which can either be placed in the mouth by the user or inserted in the mouth by a dentist for oral treatments, such as teeth whitening treatments, fluoride treatments, or medical treatments, such as the application of anasthetic or antimicrobal / antiseptic treatments. The mouthpiece-strip is made with a foldable structure such as a thin strip of wax with a section of porous material (sponge) that holds the treatment dental product (liquid or gel). The mouthpiece-strip is disposable; the amount of time it is worn is determined by the type of dental treatment. The mouthpiece-strip may be adjusted in size by cutting it with scissors. The wax used for the mouthpiece is non-toxic and allows for a perfect adjustment in the mouth by contouring to the teeth during adjustment by the user. To enhance the fit in the mouth, the inner surface of the mouthpiece-strip may contain a thin layer of non-toxic sticky adhesive. The porous (sponge) strip attached to the wax strip is an inert, nontoxic material which is easy to process and inexpensive. It is attached to the wax strip with a non-toxic adhesive.

Self etching adhesive primer composition and polymerizable surfactants

The invention provides a self etching adhesive dental primer composition, a method of use of the primer composition and a product formed from the primer. The dental product is formed from the primer composition which includes water, surfactant and polymerizable material in suspension in the water. The polymerizable material includes monomers which are water immiscible. Preferably the monomers have an average molecular weight less than 1000. The primer composition is used by applying the composition to unetched dental tooth enamel and the polymerizable material is polymerized to form a dental product having adhesion to the enamel of more than 13 MPa. Improved surfactants which contain at least one ethenically unsaturated polymerizable group are provided in accordance with the invention. Surfactants of the present invention copolymerize with and become an integral part of any polymerizable resin matrix in which they are incorporated. This prevents migration of the surfactant through the matrix or slow leaching-out through the interfaces, and brings advantages of biocompatibility and stability of the physical properties of the cured matrix. In addition, the surfactant becomes a permanent part of the matrix, and forms part components of the matrix.

Fluoride-Calcium Compositions, Dental Products, and Methods for Providing Dental Fluoride

Disclosed are dental compositions and methods. In accordance with one embodiment, a dental composition includes calcium, fluorine, which is generally present in the form of fluoride, and phosphate or another stabilizing anion. The composition is stable as against precipitation of calcium fluoride during transport and storage, but is unstable against the precipitation of calcium fluoride in the oral cavity of a human. In many embodiments, the amount of fluoride may be less than the amount of fluoride used in a comparable composition intended for a similar purpose. A dental method comprises applying the composition to the oral cavity of a patient, whereupon calcium fluoride precipitates from the composition.

Low density edible animal chews and methods of making same

InactiveUS20160143320A1Low densitySmoother exterior surfaceBaking mixturesAnimal feeding stuffDental ProductLow density
Edible chews for pets have a low density (e.g. about 1.0 Kg / L or less) and a smooth exterior surface. One method by which the low density and the smooth exterior surface can be achieved uses a modified extrusion die to increase shear and restrict surface bubbles. Another method by which the low density and the smooth exterior surface can be achieved uses an extruder screw with a modified profile that holds a dough longer therein to create a whipping effect resulting in more bubble nucleation sites and hence a more uniform cellular matrix. The puffed (expanded) product was experimentally tested and provided better dental cleaning scores than a current unexpanded similarly formulated commercial dental product.

Thermoforming plastic sheets for dental products

Thermoforming of plastic sheets over a model includes varying the thickness in the area that is stretched over the model so that when it thins it becomes more uniform in thickness. The plastic sheet is fabricated in a substantially uniform thickness but with a preformed a complex profile or 3D area that partially builds in part of the area that would be stretched so that it thins much less than a flat sheet. Combinations of these elements may also be made.

Method for making dental model mold through 3D printing

The invention discloses a method for making a dental model mold through 3D printing. The method comprises the steps that a three-dimensional tooth model is established through 3D calculation according to Dicom-format CT scanning fault data of patient's teeth, and then a three-dimensional model of the dental model mold is obtained through processing and output to a 3D printer in an appropriate format to obtain the dental model mold of a patient. The gypsum model of the patient's teeth and whole or single / multiple resin or ceramic false teeth and the like clinically used in oral medicine can be obtained by filling gypsum, tooth making resin, ceramic powder and other materials in the obtained mold. A traditional impression taking method is replaced by utilizing the dental model mold made through 3D printing, the discomfort of the patient is greatly decreased, and various failure phenomena in the traditional impression taking operation are decreased. In addition, the dependence on the operator's proficiency of the making quality of traditional dental products is effectively decreased while the designability of the dental model, false teeth and other dental products is enhanced through computer aided design, the clinic practicability is good, the cost is low, and the method is easy to popularize.
