Ablative ultrasonic-cryogenic methods

An ablative apparatus and associated methods that can be used to treat atrial fibrillation and other cardiac arryhythmias by ablating cardiac tissue is disclosed. When the distal end of the apparatus reaches the tissue to be ablated, an ablation probe driven by a transducer is vibrated. Scratching the tissue with abrasive members, the vibrating ablation probe is capable of mechanically ablating tissues. This mechanical ablation may be utilized to penetrate epicardial fat, thereby exposing the underlying myocardium. The ablative apparatus may then be used subject the exposed myocardium to mechanical ablation, cryoablation, ultrasonic ablation, and / or any combination thereof.

Plasma processing method and plasma processing apparatus

A microwave is radiated into a processing chamber (1) from a planar antenna member of an antenna (7) through a dielectric plate (6). With this, a C5F8 gas supplied into the processing chamber (1) from a gas supply member (3) is changed (activated) into a plasma so as to form a fluorine-containing carbon film of a certain thickness on a semiconductor wafer (W). Each time a film forming process of forming a film on one wafer is carried out, a cleaning process and a pre-coating process are carried out. In the cleaning process, the inside of the processing chamber is cleaned with a plasma of an oxygen gas and a hydrogen gas. In the pre-coating process, the C5F8 gas is changed into a plasma, and a pre-coat film of fluorine-containing carbon thinner than the fluorine-containing carbon film formed in the film forming process is formed.

Novel bit line preparation method in MRAM fabrication

A MRAM structure is disclosed that includes a metal contact bridge (MCB) which provides an electrical connection between a MTJ top electrode and an overlying bit line. The MCB has a width greater than a MTJ top electrode and serves as an etch stop during bit line etching to prevent sub-trenches from forming adjacent to the top electrode and causing shorts. MCBs also prevent insufficient etching that causes open circuits. A MCB is preferably a metal, metal compound, or alloy such as Ta with low resistivity and high conductivity. The MCB layer is patterned prior to using a dual damascene process to form a bit line contacting each MCB and a bit line pad connection to a word line pad. MCB thickness is thin enough to allow a strong bit line magnetic field for switching a free layer and large enough to function as an efficient oxide etch stop.

The invention is a radiation curable coating containing an antimicrobial agent, where upon irradiation with UV light, the radiation curable coating rapidly cures to a polymeric coating. The polymeric coating has durable antimicrobial properties, being especially effective at preventing the growth of Staphylococcus aureaus and Kleibsella pneunoniae on wood flooring and furniture. The major components in the radiation curable coating are a urethane acrylic oligomer, a radiation cure package, an antimicrobial agent, a cross-linking agent, and optionally, an additive package. The radiation curable urethane oligomer is a relatively short chain backbone urethane polymer that is end capped with a radiation curable moiety, where the moiety is an acrylic. The cross-linking agent is one or more monomers used to lower the viscosity and promote cross-linking, and include acrylate esters of mono-, di-, tri-, or tetrafunctional alcohols. The radiation cure package contains at least one photoinitiator.

Vortex generator at hot gas output

In order to reduce the surface of a support mast (2) of an aircraft engine in contact with the hot exhaust gases (18) of said engine, a vortex-generating device (24) is positioned on the surface of the mast (2), near the hot region (22). Thus, the vortex generated in the flow of cold gases (16) crosses the hot air and modifies its path, thus preventing it from reaching zones (22) of the mast that are not predefined. This system makes it possible to adapt to the operating conditions of an already-built aircraft, without any notable increased weight.
