In some embodiments, in addition to performing real-time analyses on the extracted particulates, the collection media is removed from the system and the sample is subjected to more detailed analysis via additional equipment. The invention is for an apparatus and method for a fuel injector enabling improved combustion in automotive engines. In one embodiment of the invention, fuel is preheated for greatly improved atomization and evaporation, especially during cold engine start.
