A hydrocolloid dressing is an opaque or transparent dressing for wounds. A hydrocolloid dressing is biodegradeable, breathable, and adheres to the skin, so no separate taping is needed. The active surface of the dressing is coated with a cross-linked adhesive mass containing a dispersion of gelatin, pectin and carboxymethyl cellulose together with other polymers and adhesives forming a flexible wafer. In contact with wound exudate, the polysaccharides and other polymers absorb water and swell, forming a gel. The gel may be designed to drain, or to remain within the structure of the adhesive matrix.

Amorphous hydrocolloid dressing

The invention discloses amorphous hydrocolloid dressing formed by high-energy ray irradiation proper crosslinking. The amorphous hydrocolloid dressing disclosed by the invention has good deformability, film forming property, moisture retention, biocompatibility and wound healing facilitation, and can protect various surgical incisions, cover various acute and chronic wounds and wound surfaces, prevent infection, accelerate healing and relive cicatrization. The amorphous hydrocolloid dressing is suitable for the filling covering protection on various wounds with tissue defects and for the protection and treatment of the surgical incisions and burns and scales including the wound surfaces formed by chemical burns as well as various acute and chronic wounds and wound surfaces. Moreover, through radiation sterilization, the amorphous hydrocolloid dressing can be stored for a long time. The formula of the amorphous hydrocolloid dressing disclosed by the invention comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 2-8% of sodium carboxymethylcellulose, 1-6% of chitosan and the balance of water. The amorphous hydrocolloid dressing also can comprise 0.1-0.3% of silver nitrate or silver chloride, 3-8% of polyvinyl alcohol, 15-25% of propylene glycol and the like all by weight. The amorphous hydrocolloid dressing is subjected to high-energy ray irradiation proper crosslinking and sterilization, thus the irradiation dose is 5-15KGy.

In a preparation process, the silver ion bacteriostatic agent and the plant extract collaborative bacteriostatic agent are added; with addition of the plant extract collaborative bacteriostatic agent, the addition concentration of the silver ion bacteriostatic agent is lowered when the antibacterial activity of the dressing is effectively improved; with addition of the silver ion bacteriostatic agent, the antibacterial wide adaptability and the antibacterial durability are both improved; and as the two bacteriostatic agents are used in a matching manner, a wound can be effectively prevented from being infected, and the silver-carrying antibacterial hydrocolloid dressing also has the advantages of blocking bacteria, absorbing exudate, avoiding wound adhesion, supplying an ideal wet healing environment for a wound, promoting healing of the wound and reducing formation of scars.
