Method and apparatus for reducing intraocular pressure

An intraocular drainage apparatus for treatment of glaucoma, a device to be used in the insertion of the drainage apparatus, and a method of controllably regulating intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients through the use of the drainage apparatus is described herein. The drainage apparatus is comprised of a tube capable of conducting fluid disposed between an inlet assembly, where aqueous humor enters the apparatus, and an outlet assembly, where aqueous humor exits the apparatus. The inlet assembly is comprised of a beveled tip and preferably an anchor. The beveled tip allows the drainage apparatus to be more easily inserted into an eyeball and the anchor, when employed, functions to hold the beveled tip of the inlet assembly within the anterior chamber of the eyeball. An opening in the beveled tip of the inlet assembly allows aqueous humor from the anterior chamber of the eyeball to flow through the inlet assembly, through the tube to ultimately drain through the outlet assembly, situated on the external surface of the eyeball, so as to be drained out of the eyeball onto the exterior surface of the eyeball. The inserting apparatus is comprised of an insertion prong attached to a first handle. The insertion prong has a sharp, beveled insertion point. The insertion prong also defines an aperture wherein a second prong is slideably received. The drainage apparatus is seated in the inserting apparatus and is positioned at a proper point in the eyeball. The inserting apparatus is then manipulated so that the second prong drives the drainage apparatus into the proper position within the eyeball. The drainage apparatus also provides for the use of micropore filters and/or valves to prevent infection and/or to predictably regulate the flow of aqueous humor from the anterior chamber of the eyeball to the surface of the eyeball, thereby allowing for post-surgical adjustment of the intraocular pressure within the eyeball. An apparatus for removing and replacing these filters and/or valves is also disclosed, as are alternative embodiments of the drainage apparatus and inserting apparatus.

Method for preparing vehicle urea solution

The invention discloses a method for preparing a vehicle urea solution. The method comprises the following steps: treating industrial desalted water by a reverse osmosis device, a microporous filter and an EDI electric deionizing device and then sterilizing to obtain high purity water, wherein the resistivity of the high purity water is equal to or greater than 16 Momega.cm at 25 DEG C; mixing the high purity water with a high temperature urea solution which is subjected to ammonia and CO2 removal by virtue of flash evaporation during production of urea to prepare a urea aqueous solution with the concentration of 48-55wt% and the temperature of 68-72 DEG C; then cooling to 18-25 DEG C, filtering to obtain crystallized urea, mixing the crystallized urea and the high purity water to prepare another urea aqueous solution with the concentration of 31.8-33.2wt%; finally filtering by a filter film with the aperture of 0.2-0.5 micron to obtain the final vehicle urea solution. According to the method, the vehicle urea solution is directly produced without an external heating source, the contents of biuret, metal ions, insoluble substances and the like are relatively low, the method is especially suitable for directly producing vehicle urea in a urea production factory, and the cost during production is reduced.

Lead-acid safety battery cap

A battery cap is provided for engagement in a fill port of a cell of a deep cycle, lead-acid electrical storage battery. The battery cap is formed of a hollow, tubular body having an upper end with an expansive mouth opening, and a lower end at which a transverse floor extends radially inwardly. The floor includes a central, annular convex downwardly projecting portion that defines a central fluid passage opening. The interior of the tubular wall defines a radially inwardly projecting flame arrester seat spaced from both the upper and lower ends of the body. A pair of gas escape ports are defined in the tubular wall between the flame arrester seat and the mouth opening. A diverter is located in the lower portion of the tubular body beneath a disc shaped micropore filter that serves as the flame arrester and which is seated on the flame arrester seat. The diverter is formed with a generally disc shaped, horizontal plate having diametrically opposed notches at its peripheral edge and a pair of legs of that have an arcuate cross-section and which rest upon the floor to partially surround the central opening in the floor. A battery cap having this internal structure causes drops of electrolyte to intermittently lodge in the central floor opening, thereby forming a temporary fluid seal that is repeatedly broken to allow venting of gas and reestablished to aid in protecting the micropore filter from contaminants.

The self-supported and flexible PEDOT nanofiber/SWCNTs composite thermoelectric material thin film is prepared according to the following steps of (1) dissolving an anionic surfactant in deionized water, adding an oxidizing agent, and performing stirring in oil bath to obtain a mixed solution A; (2) adding a PEDOT monomer into the mixed solution A, performing oil bath reaction, cooling, separation and cleaning to obtain a PEDOT nanofiber, and dispersing the PEDOT nanofiber in methanol for use; (3) performing ultrasonic dispersion on SWCNTs in the methanol, performing ultrasound after a PEDOT methanol solution is mixed to obtain a mixed solution B; and (4) pumping and filtering the mixed solution B onto a micropore filtering film by a vacuum pumping and filtering method, and performing drying to obtain the self-supported and flexible PEDOT nanofiber/SWCNTs composite thermoelectric material thin film. Compared with the prior art, the high conductivity of PEDOT and high Seeback coefficient of the SWCNTs are effectively combined, and the power factor under a room temperature reaches 14.4 micro volts/mK<2>; and moreover, the preparation method is simple and has the advantages of high yield, high repeatability and the like.

By means of the method, multiple effective ingredients including polysaccharide, original anthocyanin, anthocyanin, ellagic acid and the like of blueberries can be obtained, the extracts are higher in purity, good in quality, and a production process is green and capable of saving energy and is environmentally friendly.

When the microporous film is used for liquid filtration, the flow resistance is small, the flow is large, granules are unlikely to be absorbed and cause dead end filtration. The method provided by the invention is applicable for producing films in batch; the process is well-developed; product quality is controlled easily and the cost is low.
