Relative Scale definition. Relative scale is a method used to create and determine the spatial position of a figure or object in 3D picture plane; objects or figures that are more distant are drawn smaller in size than those objects or figures that are closer to the viewer. And the objects or figure that are closer are drawn bigger.

Systems and methods for adminstering return sweep accounts

Abstract of the Disclosure
Novel systems and methods for managing a plurality of client demand accounts so as to allow a banking institution to retain client deposits on the bank’s balance sheets while, at the same time, providing the client with the capability of implementing up to an unlimited number of transactions per month and also providing the client with interest on their account balances. These objectives are achieved through the use of a pooled deposit account at the client’s savings institution or bank. Funds are transferred from individual client demand accounts to the pooled insured deposit account. All or a portion of the interest accrued from the pooled deposit account is then distributed to individual clients. The interest may, but need not, be distributed according to the relative proportions of each client’s funds in the pooled deposit account. A database keeps track of deposits to, and withdrawals from, each of the client demand accounts, as well as each client’s proportionate and/or monetary share in the pooled deposit account. On a regular, periodic, or recurring basis, a net transaction is calculated as the sum of individual client deposits and withdrawals from the plurality of demand accounts. The net transaction calculation is used to determine an amount of funds that need to be deposited into the pooled deposit account to cover client deposits, or an amount of funds that needs to be withdrawn from the pooled deposit account to cover client withdrawals. Individual account management calculations are performed to determine whether to deposit or withdraw funds from the pooled deposit account to each of a plurality of individual client demand accounts. The database is updated for each client’s deposit and withdrawal activities. The invention permits funds to be deposited into a demand account from various sources, and also provides for the tendering of payments from the demand account via different instruments, without limitation as to the number of transfers, and with accrual of interest on the deposited funds.

Dryer apparatus and dryer control system

An improved dryer (10) and drying methods are provided which increase overall dryer efficiency by maintaining substantially constant output air stream adiabatic saturation ratio and temperature values during the course of drying, notwithstanding the occurrence of upset conditions. The dryer (10) includes a dryer body (12), an input air heater assembly (14) including an air heater (32), and a control assembly (18). The dryer body (12) has a drying zone (30), with product inputs and outputs (20, 22) as well as an input (26) for a heated air stream and an output (28) for the cooled, moisture-laden output air stream. The dryer control assembly (18) includes temperature and humidity sensors (48, 50) coupled to controllers (54, 60) and a PLC (66). The controller (54) is coupled with an exhaust fan / damper unit (46) while controller (60) is connected with a fuel valve (36). In operation, the temperature and humidity of the output air stream are continuously measured by the sensors (48, 50), and the controllers (54, 60, 66) are operable to adjust the exhaust fan / damper unit (46) to regulate the relative proportion of output air exhausted to the atmosphere and recycled via conduit (52) for mixing with the input air stream, and also regulate the energy input to the dryer. Maintaining a substantially constant output air stream adiabatic saturation ratio and temperature allows dryer operation at significantly higher efficiencies as compared with prior systems.

Display and storage device

A device for holding, storing and displaying various media articles, such as CDs, CD Cases, DVDs, DVD Cases, Audio Cassettes, Audio Cassette Cases, Computer Mini-floppies, Video Cassette, Video Cassette Cases, Books, Magazines, Pictures, Cards and the like. The device is comprised of a single sheet of relatively thin pliable, resilient material, such as a sheet of vinyl, plastic, and the like, within and through said material are cut a plurality of slits, in sets of two or more slits or slit sets. The lower ends of slit sets are spaced apart by a distance which is less than the transverse dimension of an article to be supported or held, while the upper ends are spaced apart at a distance which is greater than the transverse dimension of said article to be supported or held. The lower ends and upper ends of slit sets are longitudinally spaced apart by a distance that is less than the longitudinal dimension of an article to be supported or held. The lower ends of a slit set are even on the horizontal axis while the upper ends of a slit set has at least one slit that is uneven, shorter or offset from at least one other slit on the horizontal axis. When an article is inserted into the space between slits in a slit set, the material deforms to form a compartment that captures or holds a portion of said article. Compartments are formed from a plurality of slits and/or slit sets and are open-topped/top-loading and are integrally formed with the sheet material. Compartments are capable of receiving at least one article and maintaining the article in an upright position, relatively parallel with the overall plane of the device with at least one part of the article visible for viewing. A slit sets size, shape and spacing is relatively proportional to the size, shape and/or dimensions of the articles thereby forming compatible compartments for the article. A portion of an article is within the compartment and a portion is exposed so as to permit a single article to be easily accessible and grasped by the fingers for easy placement and/or removal there from. The device is mountable to supports, such as a wall, door, and mirror or hung from racks etc.

Image analysis

A method for the automated analysis of digital images, particularly for the purpose of assessing the presence and severity of cancer in breast tissue based on the relative proportions of tubule formations and epithelial cells identified in digital images of histological slides. The method includes the step of generating a property co-occurrence matrix (PCM) from some or all of the pixels in the image, using the properties of local mean and local standard deviation of intensity in neighbourhoods of the selected pixels, and segmenting the image by labelling the selected pixels as belonging to specified classes based upon analysis of the PCM. In this way relatively dark and substantially textured regions representing epithelial cells in the image can be distinguished from lighter and more uniform background regions Other steps include identifying groups of pixels representing duct cells in the image based on intensity, shape and size criteria, dilating those pixels into surrounding groups labelled as epithelial cells by a dimension to correspond to an overall tubule formation, and calculating a metric based on the ratio of the number of duct pixels after such dilation to the total number of duct and epithelial pixels. Other uses for the method could include the analysis of mineral samples containing certain types of crystal formations.
