The invention relates to an outdoor dry-type voltage transformer used for an electric locomotive, which comprises a main body which is composed of an iron core, a primary winding which is sheathed on the iron core, and a secondary winding, a primary terminal connector, a secondary terminal connector, a primary high-voltage insulation column which is sheathed outside of the primary terminal connector, and a base, wherein the main body, the primary terminal connector, the secondary terminal connector and the primary high-voltage insulation column are fixedly installed on the base after integrally adopting epoxide resin and silicon rubber to compositely insulate the secondary terminal connector and the primary high-voltage insulation column into a whole structure, wherein the primary high-voltage insulation column and the main body are in cylindrical shape or ellipsoidal shape, and the connection between the primary high-voltage insulation column and the main body is a spherical surface whose both sides are cut obliquely. The outdoor dry-type voltage transformer can prevent the leakage of oil and the generation of a pollution flashover fault, and the invention has the advantages of stable insulation, fuse protection, long service life, small volume, convenient fixing, high mechanical strength, and wide application.
