A method and system are presented for facilitating a PXE-compliant (Preboot Execution Environment) remote boot process between clients and multiple available servers on a network. Each server device can respond to a PXE-extended DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) Request message from any client device on the network. Each client can receive responses from the alternate servers, select a server from one of those responses, and be directed by that response to complete the remote boot process from the same server. Each server also employs a self-throttling process to prevent the server from responding to new PXE-extended DHCP request messages from additional clients while the server has insufficient resources to remote boot additional clients with the required quality of service. This automatically redirects those additional clients to other servers that can provide the required quality of service without affecting the remote boot of clients already being serviced by the server.

An image reproduction device for document processing has a nominal processing speed at which it can process sheets continuously at a nominal document quality. However, the image reproduction device is arranged to process sheets at a continuously variable processing speed including the nominal processing speed. The actual processing speed is selected in dependence on operational conditions. In particular, the device is arranged to gradually adjust the processing speed from one processing speed to another processing speed. A control structure is given to select the variable processing speed in dependence on operational conditions, and to operate the image reproduction device at the selected processing speed. In a particular application of the variable speed, a print job may be started at an increased processing speed and then gradually fall back to the nominal speed, giving a fast start and a shorter processing time for short print jobs.

The retardation film obtained by stretching and orienting a melt extruded film of a polycarbonate is characterized in that:

In order to measure the phase jitter of a high-frequency signal, a spectrum analyzer is used. The high-frequency signal (HF) to be measured is either multiplied by M and/or the output frequency of the variable frequency oscillator of the spectrum analyzer is divided by N, and both signals are set to the same frequency and mixed in a mixer. Finally, it is targeted at the semifinished products capable of being obtained and also at their use in the manufacture of composite materials.

A power driving assembly (17) serves for rotating a disc brake (2) being resurfaced by means of a disc brake lathe (1) mounted onto the caliper mounting brackets (3) of a vehicle wheel hub assembly (4). The power driving assembly (17) comprises a motor (18) and a shaft (19) for transmitting the power from the motor (18) to the disc brake (2). In order to optimize the arrangement with regard to external conditions prevailing in the region of a rail bound transportation route to be travelled, an air conditioning installation is provided that supplies air to an air conditioning installation outlet, the air dryer inlet being connected, by way of an air channel particularly designed as an air conduit, to the air conditioning installation outlet such that at least one portion of the air supplied from the air conditioning installation forms the air that is to be dried. The invention also relates to a rail vehicle that includes such an arrangement, and also to a method for drying air.
