This invention relates to the field of oil extraction equipment technology, and discloses a clamping device and a metal drill tong. The clamping device includes: a frame assembly; two clamping components symmetrically arranged on the frame assembly, each clamping component including a connecting component and a clamping arm, the clamping arm being hinged to the frame assembly via the connecting component; and a drive component disposed on the frame assembly, the drive end of which is simultaneously drivenly connected to the connecting components of the two clamping components. This invention, by setting the clamping components and drive component on the frame assembly, allows the two clamping components to continuously move along a symmetrical clamping trajectory until they contact the workpiece when the clamping device clamps it, resulting in higher clamping accuracy. Furthermore, since the clamping center lines of the two clamping components coincide with the axis of the metal drill tong body, the clamping components can also center and straighten the workpiece during clamping, correcting any deviations in the workpiece's placement.
