Method and apparatus for congestion control in high speed wireless packet data networks

A wireless communication network includes a base station system that transmits sector congestion information to influence mobile station sector selection processing. In an exemplary embodiment, where at least some of the mobile stations being supported by the network autonomously select the network sector from which they wish to receive forward link packet data transmissions, an exemplary base station influences that sector selection processing by transmitting congestion information on a per sector basis. Complementing that transmission by the network, an exemplary mobile station incorporates consideration of the sector congestion information into its autonomous sector selection processing logic. Thus, where potentially large numbers of mobile stations individually select the “best” sector from a candidate set of sectors, the network can perform load balancing by advertising sector congestion levels, so that mobile stations can choose (or avoid choosing) a given sector based at least in part of the congestion information.

Data line driving circuit of electro-optical panel, control method thereof, electro-optical device and electronic apparatus

The disclosed invention reduces the power consumption of a liquid-crystal device. A shift register section includes DX selection circuits and shift registers, which are divided into blocks. An X clock signal is supplied to a block in which the image data values do not match between horizontal lines which are adjacent in a data time-series manner, and is not supplied to a block in which the image data values match. In addition, for the block in which the image data values match, the image data, which forms time-division data becomes non-active, and the previous data value is maintained. For this reason, it is possible to reduce electric power for driving an X clock signal supply line and an image data supply line.

The sensor cover ring includes an eye that aligns with a proximity detector disposed in the housing wall and permits the proximity detector to emit a signal therefrom. The proximity detector, which is in electrical communication with an electronically controlled valve that is positioned downstream of the mixing cartridge, transmits a signal to the electronically controlled valve upon sensing am object or upon concealment of the proximity detector by the sensor cover ring, thereby maintaining the mixing cartridge in an open position. The proximity detector is correspondingly rotatable with the spout portion as the spout portion rotates relative to a receptacle proximate which the faucet is used. A proximity filter faucet having selective automatic and manual modes is also disclosed.

Method for signal processing and a transmitting device with digital predistortion, in particular for mobile radio

A transmitting device with digital predistortion is disclosed. The device produces a power word derived from an amplitude component of a digital modulation signal and a desired output power. The power word is compared with a limit value, and depending on the result, one pair of predistortion coefficients is selected and distortion of a first and second component of the digital modulation signal is thus carried out. The phase and the amplitude of a carrier signal are then modulated with the distorted components. Selective distortion of the modulation signal is carried out by comparison of the power word with a limit value, when the signal quality or the linearity of the modulated carrier signal falls below a predetermined limit value. Otherwise, the predistortion unit can be switched off, and the power consumption can thus be reduced.
