The invention discloses a device and method for achieving double display screen 3D display by the adoption of a serial processing mode. The device comprises an image segmentation unit, a left eye image buffering unit, a right eye image buffering unit, a first channel switching unit, an image processing unit, a second channel switching unit, a left eye image driving buffering unit, a right eye image driving buffering unit, a left display unit, a right display unit and a control unit. The serial processing mode that gating input is performed on a left eye image signal and a right eye image signal after segmentation and image processing is performed on the input image signals is adopted, and the processing speed of the serial processing mode is comparative to that of a mode that in the prior art, parallel image processing is performed on 3D image signals. However, regarding the achieving of the method, the method for the 3D display is easier to achieve, and configuration cost is also lower.
