Machine learning method for predicting cell phenotype by using holographic imaging

Provided herein are methods for determining a cell phenotype, such as an activation state, of a population of T cells. In some aspects, the provided methods are label-free methods. In some aspects, the provided methods can be used to monitor cell phenotypes, such as activation status, of T cell cultures. A computing device for use in performing the provided method is also provided herein.
